Most impressive GSW title win in my opinion. Also impressive is they have some new young pieces as well as prospects they can consolidate into another win-now player. They’re the best run team in the league. It’s incredible they’ve won the title and have the ability to choose between running it back with the same team or making 1-2 trades to add more all-star caliber talent to the team.

The Celtics will be back but they need a true starting PG. Tatum also needs to be more consistent.

NBA next season should be fire.

Tatum 48 TS% in the finals. Ouch.

That should put an end to all this top 5 player talk.

As I was watching the warriors drain 3s and the Celtics unable to score it made me question my basketball philosophy wanting good one way offensive players. until I realized curry, klay and poole are the best shooters in the game, but it was their defense that won them that championship.

Klay and Draymond (2 HOFers) are miles from the players they were in 2015/2016.

I think the rest of the team after Curry/Klay/Draymond is better now than either of those years to make up for it, the Warriors offense was beatable in those seasons despite their strong regular season results. The 2022 Celtics are easily better than the Cavs without Kyrie and Love and they basically had the identical performance. I'd probably give the edge to 2016 Warriors of those three teams due to Draymond.

I disagree, the previous iteration of the Warriors had a borderline all-star and an all world defender coming off the bench in Iguodala (who had won the finals MVP), Harrison Barnes, Festus Ezeli who was a better than Loonie (or any of their current bigs not named Draymond) + veterans like Bogut, Barbosa, Livingston off the bench. Also, prime Klay would have been the 2nd best player in this series considering how bad Tatum had played.

I don't think it's even close to be frank.

Curry was Curry - unreal but Wiggins and Draymond made winning plays all night with their defense and timely shots. Those are the players that win in the playoffs.

HIGHLY VERSATILE 2 WAY PLAYERS... Siakam, OG, Precious, Scottie - we have the peices we just gotta continue to grow them and a few years, watch out.

If you look at the past few champions/finalists, pretty much everyone playing big minutes was at least a decent defender, most were good to great. Elite teams are too good at exploiting weaknesses that guys who can't defend their position become unplayable. And this becomes more noticeable the longer you go in the playoffs.

I don't think anything has changed re the playoffs. It's easier to scale up defense than it is scoring ability.

Elite teams are also exploit your lack of offense too and it's why white and grant had nothing to give. Draymond, Wiggins, Curry and Klay defended so well that you can see Tatum thinking every time he drove. He had no idea where the help was coming from and he has to get better going left.

I'm still on the side of defense wins championships, but my core was almost shaken as Curry was drilling 3s.

I even think top 10 is debatable. I think you got your mainstays in the top 10 every year i.e. Curry, Lebron, KD, Kawhi, Jokic, Luka, Embiid, Giannis but after that the other players that fill that top 10 change every year. Tatum is in that group.

Hopefully Pascal gets a lot more respect after this. Pascal delivered in the finals, 20/8/4 on 50% from the field.

Watching last night's game, I knew the Warriors were winning in the first quarter when Tatum hit his first 3 to put them up 11-2. He immediately went into a pose and strut. All proud of himself. It's the first quarter and there's a long way to go in the game against a seasoned team. Don't think how pretty you are until the point in the game when it doesn't matter any more. Couldn't agree more that he's not top 5.

He's all-timer and I no longer want to hear slander about him. In a game of giants, he is one of the greats!

We can celebrate our two way players all we want but you need guys that can score at will to win titles in the NBA.

Flowers are going to be thrown at Curry, the entire summer, some will even move him into the top10...But the reality, Klay has been in 6 Straight finals while Curry could not make the playoffs last season despite finishing 3rd(?!) in MVP. Curry needs a super loaded team. If I were KD, I would be fuming & messaging Kyrie (you see, F'in Wiggins took the Vaccine and see the results)

What an easy run though! We were robbed of a potential epic series Suns vs GSW!!! Just like we were robbed of Clippers vs Lakers.
This is a nonsensical take. How exactly would Klay fair without Steph for the whole season and without Draymond for most of it?
