Freddy is going to make a lot of people eat crow. He had a really good season until the injury too.

From the looks of him, he's not leaving anything edible around for anyone.

Looks like Knicks offering Brunston 100m for 4 years... how does that affect Fred?

Freddy led his team to a 1st round exit as the second best player. Brunson led his team to the conference finals as the 2nd best player. There's always and excuse for his failures.

lol. Yeah, let's put the blame on FVV who played half of a series in which GTJ and Scottie also missed time against a team that was favourites against us then give Brunson props for "leading his team to the conference finals" as if Luka didn't average 33/10/7 against the Suns.

Brunson is quickly becoming one of the most overrated players in the league which feels weird for me to say because I've always liked his offensive game and 3 or 4 months ago I was of the opinion that he was an underrated piece for a surging Mavs team.

Both a good. That's what they are. Throwing the bag at either one of them?

Yuck.

Brunson's contract will be interesting to see. I think whatever he gets this summer will be the floor for FVV's next extension.

Brunson is currently on track to earn 25m a year.

Brunson is better based on the fact that he can win a playoff game or two by himself. Fred cannot do that

Let's just gloss over Kleber hitting 8 of 11 threes in G2 and Kleber+Bertans+Green hitting 11 of 17 threes in G3...

And did FVV not go off with a bunch of clutch threes and buckets in G5 against the Bucks and G6 against the Warriors to ultimately seal our first Championship? He had a 30-point and 11-assist game on 11/15 shooting against the Nets in the bubble playoffs too.

I know this board is all about recency bias and Brunson had some big games in the playoffs while FVV was injured, but come on lol.

Brunson is better based on the fact that he's not a Raptor. The grass is always greener and the Mavs have green in their uniform.

I like Brunson. When you watch him, you can tell that he's worked with Kyle or Villy just likes a certain type of PG. Very different stylistically from Fred.

Fred is great tho. I don't get why this board tends to turn on someone based on what their future contract could be.

My only qualm is I'm still not entirely comfortable with Fred as the lead PG but with Scottie's emergence and Pascal's continued improvement in playmaking, he may not have to be. This upcoming season will tell us a lot about the team's direction.
