I trust that front office but also cannot see us having any interest at that price

We're gonna be shooting bricks from behind the arc all night long.
Trading two of our best 3pt shooters for NAW and Gobert is a recipe for disaster.

So are you on board for Ayton?

Yup but only if the price is right obviously. Luckily we have a smart management team to determine that so we don't have to worry about a stupid overpayment.

The opportunity to get a 23 year old 1st overall pick who has shown a lot of promise that also fills your biggest weakness doesn't happen very often.

After a draft-day trade with the Denver Nuggets, the Utah Jazz acquired center Rudy Gobert, the 27th pick.

At 7'1", the French international has the potential to become a serious post threat.

While he has the height to create serious mismatches, Gobert has a couple other interesting traits. He has a freakishly long wingspan of 7'9"—the longest in the NBA—and a 9'7'' standing reach.

Odds makes react to the predictions of betters, not general managers.

God I hate this idea.

If it Trent plus salary filler then sure. But I'd rather have OG that Gobert straight up.

Masai believes in good team chemistry, on and off the court. Reports out of Utah are that Gobert is not well liked by anyone.

The type of contract he gets from other teams will all be relatively similar. It'll come down to down where he wants to play and whether that team can give enough to the Suns to make it worth their while.

OG will definitely be one of the best players they could get back imo. If they have a follow up move to plug the Center position then they'd go for it for sure.

Anyone that's pushing for Gobert obviously has never watched him play. He's the most overrated big man maybe in the history of the sport. He's on an absolute terrible contract that pays him 41 million per season. He's about to be 30 years old. He's a cancer in the locker room. He gets run off the floor during the playoffs. It would likely cost us 2 starters. I really really hope there's no validity in these rumors but it keeps popping up has me worried.

I kinda had a feeling this is Masais target this offseason for months now .....Even if we do not like it Masai goes against the grain alot and it ends up working out more then not.....Only thing i am iffy on is trading GTJR And OG for him....Masai better have a plan to replace like 30-40 PPG from them 2 guys....

I think most people hate giving up anything for Gobert, but why I posted this was a oddsmaker put Gobert to Toronto at 50-50. I don't think it is exactly cause for alarm, but the fact we keep hearing this stuff makes me think it has legs.

I do think people on this board show some flaws in how they approach defense. You need an anchor and if you trade OG, you need to get a player back who does what he does and more. Gobert is the best defender in the NBA:

I think Gobert is criminally underrated. when your star guard doesn't pass to you at all, even when you're wide open, you got Raptors fans hating him lol. I think he can be very useful in the right system. if we had more consistent scorers on the team, maybe i would consider this move - maybe.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.
