If he isnt used as salary ballast for a trade,
We could do worse for 1.9m.

He shot 5% lower than his career average from range and if he can get some of that back he could end up being useful, otherwise he is a 1.9m contract to bundle at the deadline.

It was absolutely wild that we gave a guy like Svi a player option. Surely he didn't have a ton of suitors lining up to give him a big contract.

Svi felt like a pretty decent signing at the time - thought he could provide some shooting (we really needed shooting, and we still do). Too bad Svi couldn't live up to Nurse's expectations.

he actually had a lot of suitors, he would have snapped up earlier, but was RFA, but then okc made him UFA later in free agency.

This link from last preseason isn't meant to pick on specific individuals. It was largely board consensus that Svi was a revalation of sorts last October. Boy were we wrong - hopefully he finds his game next year

yea sharpshooter is a strong description. Even before his stinker of a season here, he averaged
32% on 2 3pa/game
40% on 5 3pa/game
33% on 4.8 3pa/game

One good season on fairly low volume (for a "shooter").

He needs to change his entire approach to his role, because theres not enough time for him to shoot him self into rhythm or eat possessions with one man fast breaks..

He should focus everything on disrupting passing lanes and giving good resistance on man defense. Then on offense be a catch and shoot guy with the ability to pump fake and drive if need be
