He's a unique commodity on the roster as a vertical spacer, and he and Fred appear to have developed a nice chemistry in PnR. I think it's more likely that Fred's the first starter off the floor so he can spend more time with the bench unit (including Koloko) like Lowry used to do.

Koloko will play less than half the season with the Raptors. Not that it's a bad thing, he should be 905 bound as a 2nd round rookie with an extremely raw offensive game.

If he does play more than that then Masai did not do a good enough job patching up a weakness.

Based on Summer League, in which I mainly watched him, I would say he could probably start defensively even with the usual rookie issues because he's a genuine shot blocker and didn't get roasted on switches, but offensively he's miles away. Offers very little at the moment and is definitely a project on that end. His FT shooting improvement was a big selling point but it did not look like a strength.

love that koloko is even looking to take that 3. he's not shy about shooting and that's a good thing because he can actually shoot. just a matter of reps/experience but he can def fill that ibaka role for us. just need to find us a gasol replacement too.

Jakob Poeltl. Just need Yak to learn how to shoot the 3. Although Marc forgot how to shoot with us so maybe that's not a deal breaker

Poeltl's FT% is about the same as Marc's three point percentage with us. There is no way Poeltl is ever going to shoot threes. lol

Koloko will be a change of pace guy, when the Raps want to play some drop coverage. Unless there are a lot of injuries or the Raps are resting a bunch of guys, it's very unlikely he starts a game.

I would love to see Loko starting, even if he only plays 12 minutes a game. Would just be real tough to ask Trent or OG to take a 6th man role for 2nd round pick. It would be like Siakam's rookie year.

If our team can remain unselfish this year and not worry at all about individual accolaides I honestly think theres enough talent to win a championship. If they play like a well oiled college or FIBA team.
