This was an interesting journey with Curry's heart issue. Leon Rose prevented something pretty major here.

The man had nearly 70 million dollars in salary throughout his career. Assuming he managed his finances decently. He has generational wealth.

Leon Rose was pretty smart about denying the DNA testing.....that's a slippery slope.

IIrc, he did not manage his finances decently, and far from it. Could be wrong though, I'm not sure about this.

All I remember about Eddy Curry is that he allegedly once tried to bribe his Limo Driver (a man) to suck his d***.

Pretty hard to feel bad for somebody who’s career take home (assuming 50% tax or agent cost) is 300x my salary yearly.

The Eddy Curry story is so insane, what a read. Glad he’s straightened out. I would have figured he’d be in a bad place right now

Happy to see the league having turned around its image.

As a kid, back when Eddy Curry, Zach Randloph, Rasheed Wallace, etc. were mean mugging around the league.

Now you have such a different expectation of what is acceptable, it's not even funny.

The NBA was way more enjoyable to watch back in the day when you were allowed light contact.

I’m pretty sure it came out that his driver was just trying to extort money from Eddy Curry. He might of talked about that somewhere.

I'm all for reminiscing over the good 'ole days, but I just don't agree. Talent around the league was way less. The stars of yesteryear were largely flawed and we have no guys that are simply just big being paid tons of money for having grown a lot taller than the rest of us.

About the only positive was that threes weren't let fly every possession down the court, but that also provides huge variance in the score, makes teams come back or blow out the opposition. Social media and lots more insight into their lives and off-court stories are tons of fun for us the fans today and it also seems to keep guys honest and rid the league of the truly awful people, or at least those with awful decision making.

Hard to imagine Steve Francis not wanting to come to Canada again.
Hard to imagine Gilbert Arenas bringing a gun into the team locker and demanding his money from Javeris Crittenton.
The dress code definitely stepped up the level of professionalism today.
The global reach also really means that the best of the best are out on the court.

I'm all for reminiscing, but come on, what did you like about the old game? The Triangle offense? Lots of Princeton cuts? If you liked the one-on-one aspect, I would argue that all of the switching to target one player is exactly that...
