Excerpt from Nurse's book highlighting player concerns with FVV
Thought this was worth the share and one of the reasons why OG reportedly wants out.
I've seen this a lot this season, where Fred demands the ball and gets upset when the player doesn't give it up.
That's not what a "leader" is supposed to do, it diminishes the team chemistry.
The audacity for an average player to demand the ball like he's some sort of bonafide star is comical.

Some fans think players don't see this type of garbage, if most of us sitting at home notice and dislike you, you'd be dumb not to think the players don't

We push Fred like he's an all star, he would be a bench player on most NBA teams.

What a random tidbit to put into such a random place
“Conversations with players are like 2 mins in length. This one time OG said “**** Fred” to me.”

I bet a lot of guys are wondering why exactly Fred is the "leader" of our group. He doesn't lead the offense, in fact it's way worse when he does, and he doesn't lead the defense because he's too small and has spurts of just rolling out the red carpet.
He should be the one to go. If Trent is content with re-signing I would look to get rid of VanVleet. He isn't the answer for us here and he almost shot us out of a title before he got hot
If he didn't suddenly have a hot shooting stretch he would hands down be the most hated Raptor in our short history.

Fred knows if he’s not allowed to dribble the ball up the floor, he loses 80% of his role on the team.

This is just getting crazy now. Fred lives rent free in so many people's heads on here. LOL.

I know the FVV hate is at an all time high right now, but who the hell wants OG dribbling the ball up the court?

This isn't an adult reason to want to leave.

This was already posted in another thread earlier, which is where you got it from, not sure why it needs its own thread... especially when the book was released like 2 years ago. #oldnews

Coach.
No he doesn’t. Scottie or Fred have the PG duties on this team.

Nick was trying something ON THE FAST BREAK at the time. He’s allowed to do his job and FVV shouldn’t behave like Kyrie Irving.

I have cited that excerpt a couple of times on this board. When I read it a couple years ago I didn't think it was a big deal, just a small insight into Fred's approach. Looking at it now in light of the season, it may show how teammates feel about Fred.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Re: Excerpt from Nurse's book highlighting player concerns with FVV
i remember duffman pointing out it could possibly be by design that fred always come to the ball instead of trying to space the floor... well my man wants the ball come hell or high water. Its clear as day the team would be better off if he just trying to space the floor, fans, coaching staff, players, everyone knows. But this man keeps doing what he does

Yeah its worth considering, we have very little to work with given how tight lipped this organization is, so it might on the surface look small but it could involve a larger source of friction.
