on pace for 26-30 at deadline .. still enough to make some trades. Team clearly flawed.
16 games until trade deadline including last night vs Charlotte. I guessed our record. I will update after each game.
(17-23)
Jan 10 - Charlotte - W (18-23)
Jan 12 - Charlotte - W (19-23)
Jan 14 - Atlanta - W .... Loss (19-24)
Jan 16 - @ NY - L .... Win (20-24)
Jan 17 - @ Milwaukee - L (20-25)
Jan 19 - @ Minnesota - L (20-26)
Jan 21 - Boston - L (20-27)
Jan 22 - NY - W (21-27)
Jan 25 - @ Sacramento - L ... Win (22-27)
Jan 27 - @ G.S. - L (22-28)
Jan 28 - @ Portland - L …. Win (23-28)
Jan 30 - @ Phoenix - L (23-29)
Feb 1 - @ Utah - W .... Loss (23-30)
Feb 3 - @ Houston - W (24-30)
Feb 5 - @ Memphis - L ... Win (25-30)
Feb 8 - San Antonio - W
Feb 9 = Trade Deadline.
7-9 record as per above (24-32). But lets say we get 2 extra wins and go 9-7 instead, we would be (26-30).
To put things in perspective on Feb 9 of last year (deadline was Feb 10), our record was 30-23.

				O.G. Anunoby
The Raptors at least seem to be willing to listen to offers on Anunoby. And if the team does get serious about moving him before the deadline, he’ll become the most popular player on the market due to his age (25) and skill set. Anunoby is arguably the best defensive wing in the NBA right now and is capable of guarding the opposition’s best player one through five. He’s also a terrific help defender, forces a ton of deflections and turnovers and will thrive in playoff settings.
He also is developing into an offensive weapon, averaging 18 points per game on 47 percent from the field and 37 percent from 3, and has become far more comfortable attacking off the dribble and in ball screens. He still hasn’t hit his ceiling as a player, and teams would have him for two potential playoff runs before he becomes an unrestricted free agent. If the Raptors decide to entertain trades, the price tag should be relatively similar to what Jrue Holiday drew in 2020: two first-rounders and two pick swaps. He fits on every team in the NBA, but particularly fits best on teams that are one piece away given his defensive acumen and shooting. — Vecenie
Fred VanVleet
VanVleet’s availability depends on the direction the Raptors end up taking. If they decide it’s time to give up the postseason chase and take a step back, VanVleet is tailor-made to hit the trade market. He’s about to turn 29 and is on a de facto expiring contract — he almost certainly won’t exercise his $22 million player option for next year since he’ll get more money guaranteed over a longer term on the open market.
His shooting struggles are starting to turn the corner. Over his last 13 games, he’s shooting 39 percent from 3, averaging 20 points and seven assists while only turning it over 1.8 times per. He’s been really good and looks similar to the guy who made an All-Star team last year. However, there is a concern that VanVleet has been overworked in the last four years. Despite suffering nagging knee and hip injuries, VanVleet has finished in the top 10 in minutes per game in each of those seasons while playing in an aggressive defensive system.
Regardless, VanVleet would be attractive for a number of teams looking for a starting guard. He shoots, he defends and his decision-making aptitude translates well to playing off stars. — Vecenie

Say you haven't watched Murphy without saying you haven't watched Murphy lol. I can already see him becoming better than OG as soon as next year but definitely by year 4.

The Suns are known as a potential suitor for Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet, but once Irving became available, Phoenix shifted its focus to the Irving market.

All we have to do is wait for Masai to get home. He doesn't take calls when he's not at home...for some reason.

Is it possible for Fred to be traded and immediately on the new team to decline his player option and get extended?
If that is the case maybe his value is higher as we think. He can br more than a rental if he agrees with the buying team ahead of the trade.
