The more I think about it, the more I think Pascal isnt the guy to move for Portland's pick but rather OG. Its great that OG seems to be more desirable and seen to be more attainable than Pascal. Because I believe it is much harder to get a good offensive player than a defensive player and offenve is more valued than D in this league.

We have to remember FVV contract is up now, Siakam + OG are up in a year. We have to make commitments on this core asap, it's not like we can be patient and run it back with a new coach and see how we can improve cuz the core is locked up.

I hope a bomb drops

This is actually annoying. This board is just filled with ppl who want every draft pick possible, not because they think they're stars or something, just because ya'll feel multiple picks is the way to go every draft. And then when none of those things happen for whatever reason, ya'all will gripe some more about how dumb mgmt is all the while not knowing anything about behind the scenes decision

Yep.

Went all in for the 13th overall pick.

AND had a top 6 protected pick in the 2024 draft.

Congratulations Bobby and Masai. You played yourself.

Everyone thinks an unscratched lotto game is a winner. Sometimes they are but most often they aren’t. Same thing with draft picks. It’s the thrill of hope.

Behind the scenes decision = still evaluating, add more 6'9 players who can't shoot.

OGs not a player that they would move the 3rd pick for....OG does not make the Blazers a contender....If they move the 3rd pick they want a player back who makes keeping Lillard long term a logical thing to do....They obv want a player who puts them into a contender status...

Siakam might not even be that guy for them because of his contract situation. But we will see

If they want an All NBA/ All star type player it’s Siakam. No one better is available. Unless something new comes out where a star wants out.

I could see Dereck Lively going lotto. He’s still incredibly raw on O but his best case scenario fills some big holes for both Orlando and New Orleans at 11 and 14.

Id tend to agree with that looking at the landscape of the NBA atm....But crazy things happen....KAT could become available....Maybe Pelicans give up Ingram + Murphy for the pick...Maybe other teams come out the wood work....If Siakam was under contract for 4 years on a decent deal i could see it more....But becoming a FA prolly about to ask for close to 40+ mill a year is a tough pill to swallow if your the Blazers.

Looks like this thread is going the way of literally every other one with whining about the FO, but just in case there's actual draft talk, my current rankings of who may be at 13 for the Raps. This assumes B. Miller, the Thompsons, Jarace, Hendricks and Black (all appear consistently in the top 6-8 in mocks) are all off the board. I value a mix of movement shooting + defense and what would fit well next to Scottie:

1. Wallace - nbadraft.net has him at 13; diverse scorer, very fluid, good motor, + defense; back issues & not as creative off the dribble
2. Bufkin - man fun player to watch; "high event", nice bag, fearless, will turn it over a bunch tho; good on-ball D, some system worries
3. Dick - all 3 of the mocks above have him going ahead of 13, didn't understand why until watching; legit movement shooter, can hit any shot, great passer; weak defensively tho. Amazing fit next to Scottie imo
4. George - shoots 3s and gets into the paint w/ good touch, strong build, Norm-ish; exploitable on D (height) but good instincts
5 - Tie - Coulibaly and L Miller - high risk/reward; if either of these guys shows consistent shooting touch, they're going to make a lot of teams look silly on redrafts

Avoid: Whitmore - bulldog, selfless passer, explosive but hasn't shown much shooting or dribbling to gain an actual advantage (he can handle but doesn't seem to get him anywhere); not the best Scottie fit. I think his build gives him a huge advantage in college but it'll be mitigated in the NBA. Could develop into an elite defender which will make teams look stupid tho.

OG's trade value at the deadline was 3 first round picks..lets assume they're all late FRPs (We know teams like the Knicks were offering 3 late FRPs)

So you want to trade 4 FRPs for the #3 pick.

If that happened we'd have to admit that the play-in failure cost us a total of 5 FRPs.....Masai and Bobby would get absolutely roasted, I am usually optimistic with them but this is the first time I wouldn't be on their side.

They won’t take OG for the 3rd pick. Maybe the Pacers #7 or Mavericks #10 pick though.

Is it worth mentioning that Rico Hines was coaching the Combine scrimmage?

Read on Twitter

His Team Hines just happened to have Tristan Vukcevic who dropped 21 points. Rico had a long look at my stretch C in action torching the nets.

/edit A reminder this guys has had a few minutes in the Euroleague and he looked good against the very good Real Madrid.

Mo Gueye looks fluid as ever - near 7 feet and looking like a guard. With the second pick of the NBA draft, the Charlotte Hornets select Mo Gueye from Washington State.

If not pick two, at some point you know they are drafting this kid.

He is going to be a good player. Not sure about the PG side of things, but as a scorer who can get to the basket he is shifty and shows some skill.

Kind of crazy he didn't even scrimmage. I guess he is officially a high first now after being a second most of the year.

Dude bulked up which impressed me. He looked way skinnier in-season.
