Predict Barnes Statline

Post#1 » by Duffman100 » Fri Aug 18, 2023 5:35 pm

Assuming the roster is set, what do you see Barnes doing next year?

I'm thinking he bounces back with increased usage but still struggles with his shot.

17 points
7.5 rebounds
7 assists

If the team is truly turning the keys over to Barnes to run the team, just on usage alone I could see his scoring jump to 20pts/game, rebounds 9 per game and assists possibly 9 or more per game.

I can not see this happening though I'll certainly be pleasantly surprised if it does (or something close to those numbers like 18 points 8 assists). Perhaps he has another gear in his game or develops or excels when getting the keys though. He has multiple years of potential progress ahead of him in whatever role he finds himself in for sure.

I was burned badly in my last prediction, happy to eat crow. It's not going to stop me from doing it again though: 20.1 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 6.2 apg.

Just think of all the cheap pts, rebounds, assists Fred would get because the opposing team puts up a shot with no chance of rebounding and Fred collects the rebound to outlet faster, or the opposing D breaks down, and Fred with the ball in his hands gets an easy layup. The assists will be determined by how much this team truly moves the ball. If they really do go in that direction, and Scottie is a big fan of that too, his assist numbers might not go up, because he would be the initiator, and not the final pass (no hockey assists counted )

If Scottie hits another gear, he could blow past the 20pts a game.

I think 17.5/7/6 is fair for Barnes

17/8/7 on 44/30/75 top10-DPOY voting

His potential is insane. Just needs to add a Scottie Pippen jumpshot and see what happens

Thank you Tampa

I think he has the potential to have a 18.5 PPG / 9.0 REB / 6.0 AST type of season, and I would really love to see him rebound more this year. But when I took a look at the numbers I was kind of surprised to see that Scottie only averaged 5.4 REB after Jakob joined the team. If Scottie can get on the glass more, he can push the floor.

So more realistically I'll go with 17.5 PPG / 7.0 REB / 6.0 AST.

Siakam is still going to be the guy scoring the most points for us, Scottie and OG are going to be playing off of him

*I have no idea what kind of offense Darko runs

19 PPG / 9 REB / 6 AST as a result of higher usage. Shooting splits will see a minor uptick.
