MLSE Announces Scotiabank Renovations

Post#1 » by WuTang_OG » Thu Oct 5, 2023 1:20 pm

Read on Twitter

They started with the Mastercard club, which blew out all the box suites and made one continuous area with a big bar/restaurant

next year I heard there will be even more upgrades/renovations to all the premium lounges and new restaurants added

Upgrades are always welcome, but we have to know that they are only doing this because there was a business case made for why this will lead to more profitability.

I imagine some seating sections are going to get the “upgraded economy class” experience, where users get to pay more for certain bells and whistles.

As a fan, I’ve already been priced out due to inflation in real life expenses, so they’re probably going all in on corporate clients and the OVO lifestyle chasing Instagram people.

That only works if you're in a city. Tried Public/Freedom for a while, but it was trash anywhere that wasn't the GTA. Has that changed?

The real fans like yourself are those they should be focusing on. I recall the sprite zone days fondly as they were the only way that my fam could afford to get into the building.

I wonder if they're compelled to hold a certain percentage of tickets at a lower cost? Also - the hack for me has been going with a group of humans to the game. Saves $$ if you book in advance.

I think this is pretty exciting news. About time Scotiabank got a major upgrade. Hopefully we can get another All-Star game soon once this is all done.

This is terrible news. Look what happened to the blue jays offense this year after the Skydome renovations. Darko might be on the hot seat from now

The bar area in the 300 level which overlooks Jurassic Park is always full. I don't get it, but people buy a ticket to a Raptors game and sit in a bar watching on a big screen.

The outfield bars at Rogers Centre are great, so I'd bet the Raptors are doing much the same.

Will there be places where you can see the floor but will have the choice to sit on a couch and watch it on TV? I love the idea of paying for a ticket and then watching the game on TV. The Blue Jays were geniuses to actually think they could sell this idea.

I live in the country and use a small local ISP which has crappy connectivity (2-3mb down max). Bell knocked on my door last week and offered me 30mb downstream guaranteed at the same price, and tons of cable for 10 bucks more. I haven't had cable in a decade but I was tempted. HD Raps! Almost did it too. Then I thought to myself - am I actually unhappy with my measly 3 megs? Not really. Do i want to voluntarily sign back up with Bell? At that point the answer was clear - no freaking way. I hated being their customer. So I said no and will keep watching decent but sometimes choppy streams on my laptop. It ain't 4K but I'm happy with the peace of mind my choice is bringing me.

Tales from the canadian connectivity crypt...

Was there on Sunday for Nas/Wu-Tang/De La Soul

One weird thing is they take your can of beer and pour it into a metal cup for some reason now. Really bizarre, really wasteful. Would make sense for draft I guess but lol. Kind of a head scratcher
