Worth noting - RJ and Scottie have always had this little rivalry dating back to their HS days. They are now teammates.

PASS IT TO BARNES!

His floor is a better player than GTJ. I'll take it.

We can develop him further. He'll benefit from playing with Barnes, as well. He's only 23.

Unfortunately, I think he will be a punching bag for fans like he was for Knicks fans because he's so inconsistent, but I hope I'm wrong.

Quickley was the key piece of the deal for the Raps, but RJ as the filler contract, it could've been a lot worse than him.

A knock on him has always been getting and staying in elite shape, if he trims up a bit and gets a little more agility he is special

Hopefully playing in his hometown will give him that drive

I'm just hoping a change of scenery helps him out in some way.....apart from that I'm keeping expectations low for him.

The guy got hated on but quietly kept Canada in a few games while Shai was trying to find his shooting stroke.

He's going to be a player who's value gets raised while he's in Toronto. I would use him as a bench piece but the contract will make that hard. I would guess we see how he does this season next to Barnes.

Hes only 23. Let's give him our support not our hate as he figures out how to take his game to the next level.

Agreed. KNICKS were highly motivated to unload him... like Wiggins at GS now...

At worst he’s a GTJ with a more versatile skillset

At best he finds his groove and unlocks some of his potential here at home

I’ll be satisfied if he becomes a reliable enough 3rd option. His contract is practically high end role player/average starter in today’s NBA so I’m not stressing over it. Not nearly as bad as paying Jakob $20 million to sit on the bench when we need to win a game

I think his playstyle fits Scottie better than anything the Knicks had.

There's some untapped potential there because he still hasn't put it together yet but in year 5 if it hasn't happened yet, it might never. The 3 point shooting was looking like it might have turned a corner early on but has regressed. The FT shooting improvement is encouraging though going from 61% in year one to 83% this season. Still, I don't think that's the most important thing for him, what he needs to improve is his finishing in and around the rim. He is excellent getting to the rim but he doesn't finish well there so he is very reliant on getting foul calls for his efficiency to be respectable. He has some Achiuwa in his game where he mixes in spectacular finishes with others that leave you scratching your head.
