Re: Draft Pick Situation
So if we suck for the rest of the year, which we will, we keep our pick? There is some talent there for us to use.

Re: Draft Pick Situation
If this draft is as bad as everyone says it is, wouldn't you want to convey this year's pick to San Antonio rather than next year?

Re: Draft Pick Situation
Great list and good overview of our draft situation.
The Poeltl trade looks so bad - hamstringing our rebuild. It was bad when it happened, and it's even worse today.

There are no guarantees we keep the pick. The Raptors will not finish any worse than 6th. They are way ahead of the Blazers who have the 5th pick.

Re: Draft Pick Situation
So we likely end up with OKC or Clippers pick.
management might prefer our owed pick to SA conveying this year

I need to clarify this. I've seen 1-3 protection and no protection. If anyone has anything from a legitimate source, let me know and I will adjust

I mean it doesn't really matter. They won't be a bottom 3 team.

I read on the Athletic in the Grade the Trade article that we also get NO 2nd in the Kira deal?

It's a real long shot, but it's possible. Lets say they lose in the play-in (they're currently tied with NY for 6th), they'd find themselves in the lottery. But ya, that protection likely isn't going to matter.

Do we expect to be that much better next season if we finish near the bottom of the heap? I think you have to see how bad this team is first. I suspect its not bad enough. But there's still 3 weeks until the deadline.

You’d probably prefer getting the top 4 pick now with the intention of being a playoff team next season.
