Our Front Office Is Overrated

Post#1 » by geokilla » Wed Jan 17, 2024 10:22 pm

Looking at Masai and Bobby's tenure and it is clear our front office is overrated. We're basically riding on the reputation of the 2019 championship and the Rudy Gay trade. What's the point of trading for Poeltl and getting out of the 2024 draft if we're going back in? It's time we move on from Masai and Bobby.

We lost a good coach because of narratives like this already.

'Fans' like you specifically have no sense of how valuation of assets work. Consider watching other orgs at the same time before you throw more egg on this front office.

Masai is a smart man, but his emotional involvement and arrogance are his downfall

Bobby is an idiot - half this board can outsmart him

Our FO turned out to be self serving lost causes after the title

People raving on these trades need to consider we lost more then just OG & Pascal.

This useless front office fired the best coach in our history and found themselves in an even worse position.

I’ve been saying our FO has been cooked since 2020. Had we begun rebuilding 1-2 seasons after the title we’d be in much stronger shape now.

Our FO has a 1 year window to get us back on track, otherwise Bobby will be fired and Masai will be under more heat.

The OG trade and Scottie pick were top tier moves.

Everything else has been a clown show from them.

Our front office got MASSIVE raises after the championship and have not earn a single damn penny from it. We'll always love you for the Championship but it's time for you to F off. The pathetic missteps that most people on this damn forum could have told u about are inexcusable.

The single good thing theyve done since the championship was draft Barnes and I'm getting sad thinking about him demanding a trade outta here in a few years when we have no real talent around him.

Really hoping, perhaps to my own disappointment, that the media will hold their feet to the fire.

The last couple years, aside from drafting Barnes has been abysmal. And that's being gentle.

With how trash most people on here think they are, they might actually be underrated?

AGREED.

Joe Dumars 2.0

We truly have to bank on LUCK in a bad draft.

This fanbase judgement on how basketball operations should be operated is vastly overrated

This is still a good FO, but they need to eat a gigantic slice of humble pie and get back to work.

I don't want to ever hear the argument again that draft slots don't matter to a rebuilding team. Being lucky is better than being good.

That Yak trade was one of the worst moves any NBA FO has made in recent years. It was truly catastrophic. In general, other than the Scottie pick, this FO has done a piss poor job building a winning team since the championship.

They deserve a huge amount of credit for delivering a championship here but they've simply been awful for a good long while now.

The team has been moving backwards and it's all on them.

Not nearly worth what they're getting paid, which is near the top of the league in terms of executive compensation.

We lost a good coach because the FO fired him. Not because of the fanbase. We didn't hire an incompetent coach in Darko either. The FO did. I'm not saying we should fire the FO btw. They just haven't done a good job since 2019. That's all.

It was so, so, SO effing avoidable.

You can always draft a bad player, that can happen no matter what. There was a zero - ZERO - chance of the Poeltl trade working out. And not even trying for a chance at a generational draft? Unforgivable stupidity.
