TO TANK, or NOT TO TANK, that is the question!

I'm against it. As I mentioned on another thread, it would have very bad impact to the development of Barnes, RJ Barrett and Quickley.
Having a better draft pick is not a guarantee of getting a better player. There are a million examples of that. And it would be sad watching the Raptors go through such a calvary.

I want wins. As many as possible!

They aren’t very good anyways

Roster is very much in transition

Play to win

What happens happens

Win or try to win. Would rather just convey the pick this year

I don't think there is much choice here. Whatever happens, happens. I'd say if you can find good deals to unload any or all of Gary/Dennis/Bruce/Chris, you do it. If those deals make us better, or worse, so be it.

BBQ are going to get reps and continue to learn and grow. I'm good either way.

trying to win now isn't working.

they hired a developmental coach. what do you think they are planning?

There's a real risk of losing Scottie if we go full tank. Not interested.

let the chips fall where they may. There are pros/cons in both scenarios (by both scenarios I mean either getting to the #6 slot and keeping our pick, or conveying a #7-10 pick). But IMO retaining our pick this year and using it to either draft a core piece or make a big trade for one is ideal. Then we are hopefully on an upward trajectory as we head into Scottie's rookie extension. And we won't care so much about conveying a crappier pick next year.

It's more likely the Raps win the title this year than catch the bottom 5 teams.

Our team still has too much talent to tank properly. With guys like Scottie, RJ, and Quickley we would need to come up with some excuse to not have them suit up.

This presupposes that they're setting out to tank which is not how this works other than march/april.

they'll try to win as much as they can and may well still end up losing a bunch because the top teams are pretty damn good these days.

the pistons are awful and they're not trying to tank at all.

Masai and co have typically been pretty good at drafting, and so even in a week draft could do better with a higher pick. But on the other hand they already have 3 other picks in this draft. I mean they could use those picks to get another good piece in a trade, tank and get another high level prospect and try to win next year.

Also it shouldn't be that hard to tank, the team is 7th worst, and if they trade away their already crappy bench depth they could easily lose a tonne of games if GJT/Boucher/Brown go the starters could develop and lose games because of a bad bench. Let Gradey and some other g-leaguers get the bench minutes.

5th is probably the highest they can get.

Tank mode.

I am not saying here losing on purpose though.

I hope we can keep our pick.

How the next couple months and even next year goes should not have any effect on Barnes long term fit.

His 1st year: Playoffs
His 2nd year : play-in

He is only in his third year.

Time fly fast. I understand we cannot take him for granted. But he is not going to move away because we are bad this season and even next season

He will give some time to Masai to rebuild.

There's no question for this year.

Just play it straight. Even if we try to tank, with the weak protection, we'll be at the mercy of ping pong balls. So just control what you can control and just focus on maximizing development of the core guys without worrying too much about the record.

Just play young guys, no need to purposely play the rest game (yet)

No resting top guys, but play a deeper bench. Let's try and finish with the 5th worst record unless BBQ start carrying this team on their own. This draft is better than the last one outside of Victor and maybe Miller.

lol. I don't think it's an option we're choosing at this moment.
