What would it take for MLSE to fire Masai Ujiri?

The Raptors FO is one of the best compensated front offices in the whole league despite working for a mostly corporate owned entity. His FVV/Siakam/OG core was below mediocre. The Raptors went into every season since 2020 with the intention to win, yet besides 2022 they've all failed miserably. MLSE is a corporate entity.... with 'the human element' Larry T allegedly on his way out, at what point do the corporate entities who have the fiduciary duty to maximize profit for shareholders say they can't stomach paying top dollar for less than mediocre results.

An outrageous public scandal. Otherwise he would quit before ever getting fired.

I really don't trust the Raptors to find a better F.O. despite how frustrating the last few years have been.

Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power

If he ignored the obvious high leverage signings of Noel, Dedmon and Favors.

Having pivoted to a full rebuild has bought Masai more time. All the missteps (not trading FVV, not trading Siakam earlier, Poeltl trade) are hidden in the multiple draft picks in 2024 (weak draft) and RJ + IQ. They will manifest themselves in the length of this rebuild - meaning it will take much longer to get enough assets to get back to competitiveness. And the currency of exchange for assets is losses (for draft positions)

If we’re just as bad next season I think they’re in trouble.

When Masai traded out of 2024 draft last year they said it was weak but now they have multiple picks in what they said was a bad draft

Hiring someone from Realgm to run MLSE. Although we'd have Jalen Suggs & DeAndre hunter as Raps, maybe even Kofi Cockburn patrolling the paint

Sure is nice when you get paid top 5 of your profession in the 10M+ range and are never held accountable because there is no better alternative according to most posters here

Let's see, after Kawhi leaves in 2020 they chose not to tank. If they now reverse that decision and admit fault, bingo.

I don't see that.

But I do see some pressure if we get bumped down to 7th and convey it to the Spurs after losing a lot this year.

They wont make it past this summer. They made the mess, they can't fix it.

If Masai bitch slapped Larry T and Ed Rogers with a chocolate cake in a board meeting while wearing a Borat swimsuit, he might get fired.

You should ask the same question about the leafs on a leafs board. That team is in shambles.
