wasn't this us offering Bruce for DLo+2029 LAL pick? Which the Lakers rejected?

Of course we are, it's all part of a great plan. We just can't see it or hope to understand it.

I'm assuming it's something like Russell + something (draft pick or JHS) for Brown and / or Schroeder.

This doesn't make any sense. He can opt out after this season and he probably will. It must be to take on his contract for something else

The Lakers aren't giving up their first round pick for Brown. It's too valuable.

Is it to get Max Christie? Would they even do that for Brown? I don't see any matches. What the Raptors want, the Lakers won't give up.

I would caution that Dave McMenamen is a lakers mouthpiece, he may very well be creating fluff to help create more leverage for the Lakers.

I'll wait to hear the potential deal before I judge it but I'm worried about D-Lo negatively impacting our tank. He's been playing really well as of late and we really don't need that right now.

No no, don't bring logic into Del's opinion of Masai.

Wonder if they are more interested in Trent. Also get them under the tax if they include JHS.

Who wouldn't be 'interested' in Dlo to make salaries work to get the real prize of that first round draft pick down the road from the Lakers.

Clearly there is logic. DLo is not a negative asset - he's a very low positive asset. But he is an asset for a competing team only. So why would we ever consider acquire DLo and pay a cost (e.g. Part of Bruce Brown's positive value)?

EDIT: I meant DLo has low positive asset. He could make sense for some competing (for play-in) teams or bad teams to raise their floor.

We should be trying to lower our floor, thus it makes no sense for us to acquire DLo

I think getting D-Lo back is fine as he is an upgrade on Dennis Schroeder and can help space the floor. Problem is the PO for next year. I assume he declines the option and tests free agency, but maybe he doesn't have a great market and he stays. It still isn't bad to have a quality guard like him. He doesn't really defend, but he is always a scoring threat and can really pass the ball well.

Any deal to take on D-Lo has to come back with a pick(s) and/or a prospect we could develop (Max Lewis, Hood-Schifino, Max Christie).

Bruce, Schroder for DLo, Christie, and a pick?

Maybe a third team gets involved so the Raps exit with a pick or prospect. Something along the lines of

Raps : Fournier + Future First
Lakers : Brown + Grimes
Knicks : DLo

Because we'd get a positive asset back with Russell in the situation.

To get a first round draft pick from the Lakers. Otherwise it's not happening. These articles never share the full picture. Then you can flip Dlo eventually for whatever change you can get.

The best the Raptors will get is a second round pick. That first on the Lakers is their best trade asset for a while. They're not trading that for role players lol

If history is any indication, it's that D-Lo does not impact winning basketball, rest assured, he would be great for the tank. Ask the Twolves how they feel about changing him for the corpse of Mike Conley

Maybe it's just LAL making this up but we would and should never target a LAL pick so far out. Unlike us LAL can attract stars in FA and nuke the value of a future FRP instantly

LAL FRP are worth less than other teams FRP see above
