5th Starter
Poeltl, Barnes, IQ and Barrett are locked into starting spots when healthy.
Who should be the 5th guy?

Re: 5th Starter
Not Brown as he is not a shooter.
I could see arguments for any of the other 3 in the poll but I voted GTJ.
GTJ - has been really, really good as a starter. Would be weird and send a strange message to reward good play with a demotion.
Dick - the development play, but I would rather Dick stay in his role he is in now and continue to play well. Build some confidence, slowly increase his minutes
Agbaji - his defense would be great to let him guard the POA. Could throw him in the corners offensively and hit his 3's there where he is very, very good. Playing him would let RJ slide back to the 2 and dominate smaller guys.
Really they are likely all gonna play similar-ish minutes anyways so it does not overly matter.

I don't think anyone other than GTJ has a solid case.

I'd love to see Agbaji's defence before taking a position. Ideally we need a low usage 3&D perimeter defender.

GTJ seems to play better as a starter. At least he is hitting his 3s.

Are we still trying to win? Why are so many voting GTJ? It should 100% be Ochai. Hopefully Darko will comply.

What I think and want are at odds.
I think Trent starts.
I want Dick or Agbaji to start.
Brown should definitely come off the bench.

Re: 5th Starter
If the goal is development? Gradey.
If the goal is to maximize potential trade value? Brown.
If the goal is to win? Gary.
Coaches and players will always play to win, so it'll probably be Gary, but this should be interesting.

Re: 5th Starter
Trent SHOULD be the starter, but it seems a little bit of a wasted investment on a guy who is not likely to be around next year.
I'd be ok with a carousel on that 5th spot, which would balance "win-now" options like GTJ and Brown with getting more information on Dick's and Agbaji's fit with the core.

I thought it was interesting will Lou, Blake and grange thought there was a chance olynyk would start over poeltl lol
For now it’s gonna be GTJ. But I’m most intrigued with agbaji due to defense, which is the biggest problem for this team right now

I think it's GTJ right now, but I think over time it could become one of Ochai or possibly Gradey depending on how they perform/develop. Interested to see what FA discussions with GTJ will be like this summer.

Re: 5th Starter
It's going to be Trent for sure. I like the idea of keeping Gradey off the bench as he's starting to find some consistency.

For now gary due to spacing but hoping for Ochai in the future. I’m hoping he can develop like Nesmith.

It's the logical answer for a team that's in development mode. You want room for Barnes and the others to play off each other. Not burdened by having to work through Jak all the time.
KO
Barnes
RJ
Gary
IQ
Put Barnes in the high post and run the offense Darko wanted to actually run at the start of the season. Plenty of shooting with some RJ slashing in the mix as well.

I think you will see a lot of that when Barnes is playing with the bench units involving KO. I can't see them moving Poeltl to the bench for a 30+ year old FA.

So Yak is holding Barnes back now? You guys never fail to find excuses for him

Re: 5th Starter
Have never particularly cared who starts. And who finishes is usually game/match-up dependent.
But given the lacklustre starts this team seems to regularly throw out, anyone who can push the pace and get defenders on their heels is who should be starting. Not sure if that is GTJ but I think he gets first crack. Dude just can't seem to adjust coming off the bench so you might as well start him to max the asset.
