Should we have traded for Keldon Johnson?

Post#1 » by ImaBeatDatAzz » Sun Feb 11, 2024 8:16 pm

I believe we missed out on a real good trade, probably the best player for us that looked tradeable: Keldon Johnson. He is actually a player worth giving spurs a 1st for. For some reason Greg Pop benched him when he was super solid last season averaging 22/5/3. That poor guy doesnt deserve a bench role and couldve been our 3 for the future.

I really would have liked to see IQ/Barret/Keldon/Barnes/Poeltl

Target him this offseason at all costs

He got benched because he doesn't play defense. I don't think a lineup with RJ and KJ would do very well defensively.

As a tradition, we should give up a pick to the Spurs every season for their mediocre players. :D

spurs are tanking, and he's only 24. I would give them trent + a 1st any day of the week. he aint mediocre. He rebounds good and is a triple threat scorer, that makes up for his lackluster defending. You think trent for example, is any better?

Why does this deserve a thread on its own?

And no, stop giving Spurs 1st round picks

Arguing that a player is better than Gary isn't setting the bar high unless the goal is to treadmill.

Not for Wemby. The Spurs need to give us 3 unprotected firsts to take on Wemby, a player who has no future, and his albatross contract.

Zero reason for this to be its own thread lol

It would make sense to ask if it were actually an option & not an opinion of what you would’ve liked to see lol just saying.

He probably is available, not sure about the fit here.

Didn't we just trade for a potentially better younger fit?
