I feel like Charlotte is a useless NBA team. They’re never interesting.

Maybe the new ownership and management will change that.

Bobby headed there?

As a Lakers fan I had to put up with years of this dude’s incompetence and uncreative management. He inherited a championship dynasty and drove it into the ground only saved by the fact Kobe was on the roster. I’m surprised he got the Charlotte job and I’m not surprised he’s been canned. Dude sucks as a GM. Nice guy though.

He's really been their only competent executive. Drafted LaMelo, Miller, Bridges (not sure if there were character flags out of college). Rozier and Hayward were pretty good acquisitions.

not on the initial list woj reported.

Elton Brand, New Orleans' Trajan Langdon, Cleveland's Mike Gansey and the LA Clippers' Trent Redden, sources said. Brooklyn's Jeff Peterson, Washington's Travis Schlenk and Sacramento's Wes Wilcox are among assistant GMs who will be in consideration

Competent? Those are 3 of many many squandered draft picks.

First off...in 2018 they owned the pick that would become SGA. They traded with the Clippers and took Miles Bridges instead. Hindsight...probably shouldn't have made that trade.

2019...they took PJ Washington who is no longer with the team. He is better than the rest of the guys taken after him except for Tyler Herro. But once again...former 1st round pick no longer with team.

2021...they Boucknight and he's been a bust and released. Also traded a protected 2024 first round pick to get Kai Jones who got released for complaining about playing time. I don't blame Kai one bit. I'm not sure he's a good player at all but on a trash team like Charlotte to be stuck on a bench when they playing older vets...nah...I'd be pissed too.

2022...they traded picks Jalen Duren for Mark Williams. Both are solid centers but Duren has been more impactful mostly because Mark Williams has been injured a lot more.

They hit on Ball, Bridges and Miller but have pissed away a lot of draft capital to find only 3 good players.

He was basically already out before this. You could tell because they were making good moves suddenly.

This needed to happen. The Hornets have been going nowhere for a long time.

scoring a Dallas’ 2027 FRP with top 2 protection was a nice play

If Luka asks out soon it could get messy

Typically if you get 50% of your picks right you are doing pretty good. I'm also comparing him to all the previous GMs in the MJ era. A low bar, but still he was the best. Also they didn't trade Duren for Mark Williams. They drafted both and traded Duren for future draft pick. Duren has been great but he also came in with red flags (the Bridges situation may have factored in here). Obviously trading SGA for Bridges was a huge blunder, but a lot teams passed on SGA. Not saying MK was great or anything, just competent.

Didn't he pull off the Gasol heist? Would have been 3 more rings if not for Bynum's injury.

Not without compensation. Two firsts. Fans should never devalue our staff. There could be future compensation and saying he really sucks is counter productive. All players are near allstars and management has championship pedigree. Do our fans ever learn? Of course they don't.

CHA appears to be headed in the right direction finally. A core of Ball/Miller/Williams has potential and they added to their draft capital this season with the Rozier, PJ trades. If Ball can stay healthy they should be competitive. Miller is having an impressive rookie season and he will probably end up being the 2nd best player in the draft, so they got that big decision right.

It's interesting that no one seems to get fired anymore. They just "step down" from their position. lol
