I feel like LeBron would say **** it and just retire if it came to that
but I absolutely would welcome Bron for his retirement tour, as would MLSE... i know a lot of yall would be repulsed

Definitely not worth #31 if Lebron doesn't sign here.

He's a good option for an exhibit 10 contract. How much does LeBron enjoy playing in Mississauga?

LeBron will be 40 next season, lol. Does anyone (other than Rogers/Bell) even care if he comes here? It's not like we're a washed up LeBron away from contending.

If he comes for available cap space, we look like this
Yak, KO
Bron, Boucher
Barnes, Dick
RJ, Ochai
IQ, Brown
Bronny at 31
+ 2 picks?
I'd definitely watch that team. Could be a sleeper

We're really a bottom of the barrel franchise now aren't we?

I have no hate on for LeBron & I do see how it could be somewhat of a"fun" experience because it would thrust the franchise & Scottie into the public spotlight BUT the overall problem is how incredibly short sighted the move would be & that wouldn't really serve a purpose in the grand scheme of the franchise unless this really is just all about a dollar for MLSE (which I don't totally rule out because you're talking a MASSIVE increase in money when American media would be FORCED to come here because LeBron is just an easy rating).
I think it could be a fun experience in some ways that we'd always be in headlines, a ton of media attention assuming we'd make a Playoffs or two but I just don't see the end game and how this would line up with building Scottie either into the best player on a championship team or even if he was the 2nd best, it's not gonna happen with a 40 year old LeBron lol. You'll get to the Playoffs but he'll run out of steam. It will be fun for a couple of rounds maybe, make for some memories BUT the downside...
Scottie will be getting crazy criticism and when LeBron retires where does that leave the franchise?! They basically would've set themselves back just as many years as however long LeBron played here and then you're on the back end of Scottie's next contract trying to scramble to not only replace LeBron. But good luck having intriguing players/assets when you probably drafted 18+ in the draft the past several years. Then the franchise would just be stuck again. Not to mention what if we lose the 7th pick this year only to get our pick back next year when it's out of the lottery lol that would be brutal.
So I think while it may turn out to be a fun experience I just don't think it makes much sense as a long term plan.

How do those 2nd Round Rookie scale contracts work? Imagine a world where we draft him, he signs for 2-years, and then bounces to Cleveland to play with his old man

In all seriousness, if you're looking for a 6'3" wing who gives you 4 PTS / 2 AST / 2 REB off the bench then Bronny is your guy

Not even sure Bronny is an NBA player to be honest. As for Lebron, he’s still putting up ridiculous numbers on some of his best efficiency. A lot of that is selective stat padding though. He can’t create and take/make bad shots like he used to so he pretty much never does.

Hmmm
Is there a more perfect mentor for Scottie than Lebron?
The Lebronto era would be fascinating.
If the price of getting Lebron to finish his career as a raptor is the 31st pick that's a pretty sweet deal.
Is Bronny worth that spot. Nope. Hell no. But you still do that 10/10 times if you decide that having a semi-retired Lebron on the team is a good idea.
That is the core of the issue. As he ages, will he transform his game from Alpha to Alpha Vet Mentor for Scottie and the young guys if it means getting to play with his sons? (yes I'd use a second future pick as well if it worked out).
Lebron (baring injury) has several years left where he would be a high impact player. Even if his stats drop significantly they still really good.
A fascinating discussion. Can you bring in an aging superstar with a clear bribe (play with your son) and have it mesh with a young core that needs to learn how to play and win together?

Bronny is looking more like Scottie Pippen Jr, Gary Payton II, Glenn Robinson III, Marcus Jordan (or is it Jeff Jordan...the one that isn't banging Scottie Pippen's ex-wife) and many other former players' kids that tried to follow in the footsteps of their dads.

I honestly would hate to see LeBron in a Raptors jersey.
I can’t stand the guy. His hour glass emoji tweets, his fake book club reads, his passive aggressive blaming of teammates and coaches…
I don’t want any of that.

Lebron would squeeze Masai to trade Scottie for a rag tag collection of MLE players all on the wrong side of 30.
You thought Casey loved his vets? Lebron creams for vets

Usually the scrub or avg at best former player's kids turn out to be superstars or stars.

If we got LBJ would we even keep Scottie?

This is easy money for MLSE. Pick Bronny with that 31st pick but sign him to like a 2 yr deal or something. Lebron can get like $30M for 2 years. The jersey and merchandise sales should cover both contracts and then some. The best part is ESPN is going to blow a gasket having to cover us from day one, and I am all here for it.

More like he would went to package Scottie with salaries to get a bonafide superstar.

Bronny has lots of value as a trade asset, purely from a leverage perspective. I suspect he could go before the end of the first, or at worst very early second.
1) Whomever drafts Bronny, could look to flip him to the Lakers -- the Lakers will probably be put in a tough spot since they know its key to retaining Lebron.
2) Or they can flip Bronny to another team (non Lakers) who think Bronny is the key to them then getting Lebron.
Might piss off some agents if some team tries this - but I think somebody will.
