Darko never said Pizza party this is a comment Will Lou made as a jab against the idea. Afterwards a reporter asked Gary Trent what his thoughts are on the pizza party being offered by Darko and he had an awkward response. It gained steam from there and instead of a dinner party everyone took it as a literal pizza party.
Darko looked very uncomfortable asking the reporters pizza party question too.
What is the true origin of this pizza party?

They need to come to the Maritimes and get some garlic fingers, now that's a real party.

It was a joke about Darko using a dinner to motivate his team like you would use a pizza party to motivate a group of kids.

viewtopic.php?t=2337688 "Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic has gone so far as to pledge a self-funded, all-expenses-paid team dinner if they can win three games in a row, something that hasn’t happened yet this season."

It's so clear the media reads RealGM.

It pretty much confirms that the media reads what the fans are saying. The whole “pizza party” thing was started by the fans.

"Pizza Party" will be part of NBA folklore, and Darko's Hall of fame speech.
He's basically coached two different teams in the same season.
Only has 4 rotation guys that were here from training camp. (Scottie, Jakob, Gary, Gradey(was with the 905 for chunks of the season)).
The new guys -
RJ, IQ, Ochai, Kelly, Jontay, Bruce, Jordan,
had to hear about from the media/ social media.
DJ Carton was the latest to join, and all he knows is that the Raptors victory.
Feb 26 or 27 will be official pizza party day.

Was thinking that today, Will Lou has said he checks Realgm often. I saw it on Realgm before Will Lou talked about it.
Darko mentioned the pizza party in the locker room post game, and Gradey captioned 3 pizza emojis on his insta post
I think all credit goes to GP2 for starting that thread LOL

Nah it was from GP2. GP2 made a thread, Will Lou read it, went on his podcast and said it like it's a fact.
Reporter goes on to ask Trent Jr about the pizza party motivation. Gary awkwardly looks like wtf and says he's always motivated.
Raptors pull together a 3 game win streak. Darko has no idea this pizza party talk is going around. He gets blindsighted by the pizza party thinking wtf we're millionaires and then plays the media by lying and makes his guys look good by saying they are too humble and only want pizza.

lol. i love these guys, they basically claim everything originated from korea, utter nonsense and remnant of an era when koreans looked for validation and a sense of superiority when it was still on the come up in the world.
funny thing is now there are bunch of people in china who claim kimchi is chinese which enrages korean public. so kinda like pizza is korean argument, just dumb.
as for pizza party, darko shouldnt knock pineapple on a a pizza...

Funny as I thought that pizza originated from Mexico. After all, tomatoes came from the Americas. Perhaps it's mixture of cultures that it came from.
