K-Mart thinks athletes/celebrities aren't civilians?
That's some celebrity syndrome right there...
Everybody has to follow the toiletry bag liquids rule. Why does he think he's different? lol. GTFOH, I lost some respect for him right there.

of course those 2 players would be most worried about border control.
arenas with his guns and martin with his drugs
for visiting players its max twice a season, 1/2 the league just once. *
for raptors players its like 14 times a season they do a trip *
*regular season, not counting playoffs/preseason

I feel like the culture of the league has improved a lot since the days when those two played, though maybe that is just a false impression.

I literally just watched an NBA panel where all the players listed Toronto as a top 5 city to play in, LOL.
https://www.blogto.com/sports_play/2024/01/nba-stars-said-toronto-best-cities-league/Boston Celtics stars Jaylen Brown and Kristaps Porzingis consider Toronto to be a top-three city in the NBA, joining a growing list of basketball greats to shout out the energy and nightlife in Canada's largest city.
https://www.bardown.com/kevin-garnett-ranks-toronto-as-his-no-1-distraction-city-in-the-nba-1.659974A lot of players, especially retired players, wouldn’t really consider calling Toronto their home, but that doesn’t mean they don’t enjoy the stops they get to make or made in the NBA’s lone Canadian city during the season. On a recent episode of KG’s Area 21, Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace ranked their Top 5 NBA Distraction Cities, and KG showed some love for Toronto.
“This place is beautiful, man. It’s really a beautiful place,” McCollum said Thursday on his own podcast, ‘Pull Up,’ adding that he’s currently in Toronto for his brother’s bachelor party, and has spent many an off-season working out in the city with the Canadian national team.
“It’s clean, it has a little bit of everything — obviously nightlife is available, they have Wonderland. So, I mean, I like the city. I think Lou Will was more so just talking about just the little stuff — you have to go through customs every time you fly, those types of little things probably became annoying.
“But from an understanding of this city, what it has to offer from a basketball standpoint, from a support standpoint — this place is great.”
“I’m praying like hell that they (the Raptors) get to the Eastern Conference Finals so I can go and spend a week there,” said 11-time All-Star and NBA Hall of Famer, Charles Barkley. “Toronto is my favourite place to visit in the world.”
“I just like the great culture influence,” said Kenny Smith, a two-time NBA champion. “I’m from New York City, so it reminds me of that.”

This just in, 2 of the dumbest NBA players in recent history, say dumb ****
It took me less than 30min to go from LGA to YOW, which is roughly 10min more than it takes me to go from YOW to YYZ. What a couple of idiots lol.
Also, toiletry stuff doesn't even matter if you just check your bags, which they definitely do. Such a stupid complaint, my god.

It also seems to be the biggest D-bags in the league that have an opinion like this.

Nobody likes going through customs. But yeah twice a year thankfully. The raptor players themselves are the ones that have to do it a lot and it must suck for them.

NBA players should really have a way to expedite it and should get it done. I imagine raptors players and staff have it as a must.

I'm pretty sure if you have global entry in the US, you can use the Nexus lanes at YYZ, so they don't even need to go through getting a Nexus card. But someone like Arenas is not likely to qualify for it as he has a record in the US.
I have to assume most players will have Precheck and Global Entry after being in the league a couple years purely for personal travel, so most are in and out of customs within 5 mins. Raptors players will all have it, excluding those without US/Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.

These two were never the sharpest tools in the shed and this comes out strong in this discussion.

Well, because they are different. NBA players don't board commercial planes, check into hotels or hit the clubs in the same way that the general population does.

Maybe it's just me but going through customs in general is such a nothing burger. It takes almost no time and they rarely give you any grief

Except that the liquid rule I believe is ONLY applicable to commercial planes. So he's complaining about following the same rules as everyone else on a commercial plane.
Having more money than the next person doesn't make you exempt from the laws of the land ma boy. We're talking federal/international laws here. That thinking is exactly why a lot of athletes/musicians/actors etc think they can do whatever they want without repurcussions.
Liquid Restrictions on a Private Jet
No Strict Limitations as in Commercial Flights: Unlike commercial airlines, we do not impose stringent restrictions on the amount of liquid you can bring on board. This means you can travel with your preferred beverages or other necessary liquids without limitations.

If these guys travel the same way other private jets do then they aren’t going through the regular customs lineups like the rest of us. For private charters it’s a far quicker process that takes no time at all. Put this guy up there with AD worrying about his kids learning the Canadian national anthem as stupidest sh*t players have criticized Canada for.

I'm pretty conservative and generally would agree with the treat everyone equal way. But in this case, it's an NBA team, they have a charter. Just expedite them through like the VIPs they are. They aren't terrorists
