Anyone else notice the Raptors have changed their social media designs and are heavily leaning into purple for the draft? Just a 30 year thing or do we have a rebrand coming?

The signs seem to be pointing that way. The lady face-timing Walter mentioned his purple suit as well.

It’s likely just for the 30th anniversary and not a permanent rebrand. My rep said there is a lot of stuff being planned to rollout for the upcoming season for the 30th anniversary. We saw this 5 years ago which was unfortunately cut short due to pandemic. The 20th anniversary 10 years ago also had lots of purple.

Nah, they need to pick a colour scheme and stick to it. & I'm personally not a fan of the Red/White (I don't care if it's the Canadian flag)

I thought there was a rumour awhile ago that they were planning on another rebranding for the 30th anny…just please for the love of God get rid of the damn chevron already!

If they’re smart they’ll bring back purple and a jersey that has some resemblance to the classic Dino one and they’ll sell an insane amount of merch. Most fans have been begging to bring it back for awhile now.

We just had a Wonderland event last week for members and they gave away a lot of free raptors red paraphernalia (bags, handkerchiefs, iron-on patches, etc) like they were giving candy to kids. It'll be hard to do a color change unless there's some sort of transition since for the first few years at least there will be many people still going to games wearing the old red.

Yeah, I'm not expecting them to remove the red entirely. It's just our Jerseys have become so bland and mid. I'm probably just getting old and shouting at the clouds.

But I truly miss the Purple/Red era scheme.

Hate most of the new chevron designs, but those early 2000s purple front/black back, downward silver chevrons on the side were fire

You're right - i was thinking the colors without the mascot/logo which is pure purple and black. So they could do something back to the original scheme before the vince carter era.

You're right - i was thinking the colors without the mascot/logo which is pure purple and black. So they could do something back to the original scheme before the vince carter era.

The problem with going back to purple, though, is it clashes with red, which is why I always found those original jerseys to be ugly. I think the 2000's era Raptors wisely downplayed red making it a minor complimentary colour:

Kill the red on the jerseys forever.

They traded away their past era players and are starting fresh. I'm expecting a rebrand to happen at some point.

That purple would be even more popular today than it was back then imo. Bring it back and don't ever go away from it again!

We don't need red at all other than for the small flag on the jersey.

I went to a game in Charlotte years ago, saw Kyrie as a rookie for Cavs. It was the last year as Bobcats, and they were selling new Hornets merch in the gift shops as well as Bobcats stuff for cheap. It was weird.

But that was a rebrand.

I just hope it’s more than a city edition thing. I’d love a full rebrand with purple
