Makes sense. Just to slow-footed to guard in the nba.

That's a big stretch there considering he was playing in lineups consistenting of Olynyk/Dick this past season lol.

That Atlanta game he was the goat lol. He even had key defensive plays there I was like we got a star back for Siakam!

Great.

I don't ever want to see Nwora jacking up shots in a Raptors uniform again.

You idiot, you can't say that until every single thing about the trade has been signed stamped and sealed, BB might get us multiple unprotected FRPs, then you'll look like a fool!!

Better to wait at least 20 years after every single player involved in the trade is retired to truly judge the trade.

I'd take Edey over all of those players combined. But I still have high hopes for the 2026 pick. 2026 should also be a stacked draft class.

It's just being fair!

Unless something goes horribly wrong with the pacers, I'm not gonna hold my breath on a pick in the 20's that statistically amounts to nothing.

The Pacers were 23-18 after the Siakam trade. They likely aren't a top 6 team in the East. The Sixers, Cavs, Knicks, Bucks, and Celtics are clearly ahead of them. The Magic are trending upwards too and will be on par if not better than them this year. The Heat aren't tanking either. Then the Hornets, Raptors, and Hawks will try to grab a play in spot. The Pacers are nowhere near being safe.

I don't imagine the bucks being all that good the next couple of years, same with the Cavs, but should be interesting to see.

All that being said, they are likely a playoff team with a winning record, so be it the 17th or the 21st pick, it's not exactly something to expect much out of historically.

I agree that 'statistically' a pick (around #20) usually doesn't amount to much, but we already saw a pile of kids dropping out of the 2024 draft to try their luck in 2025. And 2025 already had a half dozen great prospects that were totally absent from the 2024 draft. That will make the 2025 draft stacked, and again, a bunch of kids who were hoping to be 2025 draft FRPs will once again, drop out for the 2026 draft. I expect 2026 will be stacked well into the 20s, not only with the usual teenage prospects, but with all of the older players who were bumping back a year. 2026 'should' have the whole first round stacked with players 'at least' as good as the top 6 picks in the 2024 draft.

As for Nwora, meh. No great loss. We decided to keep Bruce Brown and pay him $23 million! And we decided to bring back Temple and pay him $3.3 million! With these two 'winners' on the team, (tank team), there would have been no room for Nwora anyways.

I'm not enthused at the thought of drafting a player who dropped out of a horrible draft because they weren't good enough lol. I don't suggest expecting the entire top 30 players in the 2026 to be as good as the top 6 in 2024, that's just unheard of. Everything after 20 pretty much levels out and there's a steep drop overall from 1-20. One bad draft isn't going to completely change the landscape of the NBA draft, maybe a bit deeper, but I doubt by that much.

I thought he played well for us, a scorer and 3pt shooter with some size but I guess he’s the odd man out
