Or maybe they hold him back at the start of the season, and get more playing time for the young guys (Gradey, Ochai & Ja'Kobe).

Bruce just needs to be healthy for the trade deadline.

Either way hope he heals up and is ready to play. He's one of our trade candidates to get an asset back. I don't care if it's second rounder.

They could have done this at the end of last season or during the offseason but the player also has to agree.

For whatever reason, it's happening now and not when they picked up his option.

I think this means and his camp along with the Raptors management don't see him as vital to much of what will be implemented in training camp. Clearly neither side sees a reason to invest in integrating him into the system.

Either way, once he heals up, we should see a better Bruce Brown that can slot into all sorts of rolls in our rotation.

The man is a great gap filler and a champion. He doesn't need another training camp, nor is it vial that he is a big part of it.

If the team and player are fine with this perhaps we should be too.

Yep, what a great return on Siakam! Maybe they'll get to attach that '26 pick from Indiana with Bruce Brown to get something even greater! Like 2nd round pick in 2029! Then we can say "wait till that 2029 pick becomes something before judging Siakam's return~!"

When you let players dictate actions, expect poor results. This franchise needs to put the team first.

Should have just taken the Knicks 2024 pick and Fournier's expiring deal for the cap space we could have used to sign more impactful players this offseason.

He's a tradeable contract whose value will peak at the trade deadline last year I was told.

As for the return, people ask to trade Siakam for pennies for Barnes to play PF, so isn't this better than the expectation?

We really traded Siakam for Bruce Brown and a late 1st rd pick hopefully Pacers are bad enough to give us a 4-14 pick in 2026

Brown out with surgery, not that I was expecting much from him this year, but was hoping he would get moved for the mythical future first rounder.... any day now!

What if it just happened recently?
