I'm pretty sure that by you being able to throw a stone, you're a better offensive option

This is good news. He's a free rental for now. Even though his minimum salary wouldn't have been a big cap hit, it's good to have a little more wiggle room and flexibility for free roster spots if we cut him later.

I wish he wasnt on any deal but this is an improvement.

Probably is it.

This kind of feels like penny-pinching. We have lots of space under the tax now, and the guy is only on a minimum. We can cut him and pay him is guaranteed amount and still have left over for deals. Feel bad for Bruno; crappy deal.

This is what we need to do, we need to start finding wins in the margins. His deal is a little over 2mil, removing him from the equation puts us at about 13mil below the first apron, every little bit counts if a deal comes along.

Sadly, the better option isn't gold.

I am hoping it comes from a trade for a backup C, so that we can actually execute some of the strategies, such as to understand a defensive lineup with slow pace with Dick being hide on defense.

Exactly. And we shouldn't be looking at the 1st apron really, but the tax line. That's set at ~$171m this season. We are currently at ~$162 if I'm not mistaken. That gives us ~$9m in room. $2m can help us a lot: It can allow us to pretty much use the entire MLE as an exception, and we are only 1 of a handful of teams that can do that which could be the difference between a deal and no deal. And if we do need to include his salary to make a trade work, we just guarantee him.

Waiving Carlsen makes a lot more sense now that we know Bruno is not guaranteed.
