Bucks call and make the offer. Is Masai pulling the trigger?

Just a straight up swap? No picks involved? Yes.

The problem is Giannis is 29, and our average age is like 24. So, it doesn't make sense.

It isn’t possible due to salaries, but salaries ignored you do it 100/100 times and figure it out from there.
You’d get Gianni’s, then trade Olynyk/Poeltl/Brown/Boucher (in different trades) along with every pick we have to build a team around Gianni’s/IQ/RJ. Play Giannis at C, find a couple guys that fan shoot and defend at the 3+4, and you’re laughing. Dick can be a 6th man.

Yes, without hesitation. Then you trade Giannis for a boatload of assets.

When you're getting a top 25 player of all time you do it without hesitation and figure the rest out later.

Despite threatening to leave for a few years now, Giannis brought them a title and has repped Milwaukee pretty hard. They will work with him to move him to his desired destination, and TOR won't be on that list.
It's also one thing for us fans to be excited about Mogbo, Dick and Shead but a 30-year old perennial MVP candidate won't see it the same way lol (he'll be 30 next month). So yeah, of course I make this trade, but this hypothetical is as close to impossible as it gets.

Been thinking about this but didn’t have the balls to post it lol

He turns 30 next month. Your window with him is like 3 years tops usually because he's a big man, as they tend to expire earlier.
Scottie for Giannis in a straight up swap is obviously great value for us but it won't be that, it would be Scottie+salary filler+multiple 1sts, most likely. Giannis will command incredible value if he hits the trade market. Then additional minor headaches because a Giannis/Poeltl backcourt sucks.
At that point you start to wonder if it even makes any sense at all. Not saying I'm against it but it's not an obvious sell to me.

Been thinking also about swap for Giannis or Embiid. I'd pull both and I may regret it 1 year later

My rationale is simple: you don't waste the opportunity to get a former MVP that can still play and is not over 35 and is in their normal physical shape.
Odds are Scottie won't ever be a league MVP. I hope he proves me wrong.

The window for Giannis would be closed before we built a team that could contend around him.

the REAL hypothetical is would you trade
Brown / Olynyk / Boucher (for salaries) plus every single first rounder we have for the next 7 years (so 4 unprotected 1sts, 3 swaps, IND 2026 1st) for Giannis?
Personally, I would. Then you trade Scottie in the off-season for a better fit around Giannis and go forward with:
IQ / Davion / Shead
RJ / Walter
Dick / Agbaji / Battle
Whatever you get for Scottie / Mogbo
Giannis/Poeltl
Does not seem entirely far fetched if a trade like this transpired in the off-season and we had a pick in the 5-9 range to give to MIL immediately (Edit - nvm we would not have the salaries)

I don't think he is interested in moving from a bottom team to another bottom team.
I still not believing our current team can make the play-in this year, adding Giannis would only be a borderline playoffs team.
I think we shall wait for two years before we think about acquiring another star to our roster.

It'd work if he's like the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of our team. The problem is he's not going to be a true first, by the time we get there.

not happening, sorry but those kind of fantasy trades, miss any kind of realism. No way the bucks do this.

To be fair, it is hard to be a bottom team if you have Giannis. Dude gives you 31/12/6 a night (this year) on 63TS%. The fact the Bucks are 1-5 is impressive.
Problem is - Brook is washed. Khris is washed (and doesnt play). Dame was not a good defender in his prime. The role players in GTJ/Connaughton/Prince/Delon/Portis are preferably your 6th-10th best guys. Right now on MIL they are 3rd/4th/6th/7th/8th in minutes played.

A realistic trade (if there even is one) would be something like Giannis for Scottie, Bruce Brown, Chris Boucher, and another young player, Bucks probably don't do it without Gradey Dick being included along with a lot of future picks and swaps.
The team we'd be left with would look like:
PG: IQ/Mitchell/Shead
SG: Barrett/Ja'Kobe
SF: Agbaji/Battle
PF: Giannis/Olynyk
C: Poeltl/Mogbo
Is that a team that can win a championship in the next couple of seasons? I would say no, there isn't enough proven talent around Giannis, not enough shooting, particularly at the big man spots, and the roster is thin outside the top 4 of Giannis/IQ/Barrett/Poeltl.
Giannis has only played 70+ games once in the past 5 seasons, so he's looking a little more fragile than the early part of his career and we can expect his numbers to drop off as he enters his 30s given his game is heavily dependant on raw athleticism. He can also leave as a free agent in 3 seasons, that's too short a period of time to build a team that can win it all, it's not like the Kawhi trade when we had a strong set of veterans in place around him to be legitimate contenders right away, this is a team that would be relying on a ton of questionable young players to get wins (Ja'Kobe, Shead, Mogbo).

Straight up, with fillers. Yes. With picks also? No, unless protected 1-8.
Iq
Dick
Rj
Giannis
Poetle
Nor bad.

I don't care about Giannis' age and its difference to the rest of the roster, you do this 100%

If you are trading Giannis, you likely could pry Prince / GTJ / Delon / Portis from MIL as well.
Something like:
Barnes / Boucher / Brown / Olynyk
for
Giannis / Portis / Prince / GTJ
PG: IQ/Mitchell/Shead
SG: Barrett/Ja'Kobe/GTJ
SF: Prince/Agbaji/Battle
PF: Portis/Olynyk
C: Giannis/Poeltl/Mogbo
It actually would be not bad in terms of depth and star power. You would almost have to trade Barrett though as RJ and Giannis are not a good fit.
This won't happen anyways. Scottie cant be traded until January. Cant see us being high enough the standings to make that deal.
