Another SG... I like that he's a local kid and has decent height at the position, but unless Masai feels he's an unearthed gem, not sure we need anymore depth at the position when we could use a young C?

Glad to see this When ever I have watched him in the G-League I am always trying to put my finger on why he isn't in the league yet. Im guessing going to take Carton's place

Blake's take:
A little more Canadian content for the Raptors!
Lawson has NBA experience, if needed for depth, and is a huge boost to Raptors 905 as a scoring weapon.
905 really leaning into the Canadian identity this year.
Lawson wasn't on my list of 5 earlier. He can really score from the wing, but lack of 3-point shooting and wing playmaking make him a bit tougher to project with Raptors on offense.
With that said, he's CRAZY fast, with great length & elite screen navigation on D, + the scoring.

How dare you demand And1's?
I'm not giving you an And1 just because you demand it.
(I'm giving you one anyways)

Didn't he have good game vs the 905 with Masai watching during that day kids game?

This guy beat the Raptors 905 alone and that was against Shead/Jakobe/Battle/Mogbo

Even if it is another SG, hard to complain about bringing in an end of bench dude who's a bucket.

I don’t think there is much to this beyond trying to make the 905 more competitive in the tip off tournament.

Lawson destroyed the 905 when we played his team last. Completely imposed his will.
He really stuck out as a player that should be playing at the next level.
I said after the game that if he figures out his 3 point shot, he'll be a hell.of an NBA player. His FT shooting went from 60% to 80%+ over the last 2 seasons. That's encouraging.
Good signing. Decent upside.
Plus I have 2 more games I have bought tickets for. The better the players, the more entertaining the basketball.
Brampton mans back home!

Still only 24, maybe things click as he enters his prime. He's shot around 85% FT's the last 2 years in the GLeague.
He can take the Garrett Temple spot next season.

He's from Brampton, maybe he'll help sell 905 tickets.

I can't even remember how long I have been tracking this kid. I had always hoped he would end up here.
I know I liked his game at South Carolina and thought he was readymade for the NBA as a scorer, but it took some time. A lot of time spent in the G League. Injuries sidelined him a bit.
He had a decent stretch with Dallas and I thought they would keep him. He just looks and moves like an NBA athlete. He just needed to add some weight and he has without losing his athleticism.
He is 24 and officially too good for the GLeague. I think he gets some time with the big club and 905 time to just help them win a game and for locals to cheer him on. Great story of perseverance.

With Battle missing only 2 games so far, I could see them having him and Lawson split time, so they don't have to convert Battle as soon as game 53.
