[Lewenberg] After giving up a franchise-record 155 [..], Darko put his team through an extended practice
How about benching the worst defenders like RJ, Dick, and Olynyk. Just play the young guys who will play hard. Jakobe is a great example, he's been fouling hard (but safe), diving for loose balls, and he is bringing the defense to the ball handler instead of being reactive.
Darko isn't going to be the coach we will be contending with. His X's and O's are the worst in the NBA. I could see him losing the locker room by the end of the season. It looks like Barnes is calling the shots instead of the coach.

I don't know if this is meaningful info but Lewenberg is definitely posting as if it is, without explicitly commenting
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

We can't blame injuries, although it's a large factor. We had no bigs against Memphis and nearly half of the roster was out. But it was an effort problem. If you're injured sit out, otherwise give a 120%

Darko benches Gradey and RJ consistently when they get backcut or fail to run back. I think Kelly is just on a conditioning stint.
The only guys that he can play more to improve the defense are Mogbo and Mitchell, and both tank the offense.

Good to see, signs that the pressure is starting to rise on him and the coaching staff... This is the NBA, in a 2nd season, no coach can lose 10 games in a row with an expansion-team -like Road record and expect job security.
ATL got the number one pick off winning 36 games not 12, with their franchise player missing about 30 games
That Lewenberg fella and others need to be a little more courageous and question Darko like any US media would do.
His former boss which means he should know most of his plays just scored Franchise-record 155 on him.

It's a known fact by now that the team sucks when they don't have a good center....not play-in suck, not bottom 10 suck, but bottom 5 suck. That's with or without Darko, the coach really doesn't matter.

It's too little too late for Darko. He's a below average head coach. He's just here to get some high picks for the next two seasons.
He will stick around the NBA as an assistant, but he is way over his head right now.

How about Masai find a way to get this team an adequate backup big man. Most teams have better 3rd string Centers than our backup... it's really not hard to find.
Poeltl is good but no team should fall apart like the Raptors do when he gets hurt... it's sad lol

I think the point was that they never had intentions of building a roster that had the depth need to combat injuries. They knew they were rebuilding and being bad for a short while was the plan. I said this before the season. If we lose any of our main players to injury that we can't compete. No team goes through the season 100% healthy. If you lose Poeltl, Barnes, Quickley or Barrett for and extended period it's going to be hard to win. Plus our schedule isn't the easiest either.

You forgot about Barnes who got torched by Jackson, and Jackson targetted him on defense.

this is exactly it. we're tanking. what did people expect? a couple of wins would be good to improve morale around the team but they need to lose wayyyy more than they win and we are getting that done. making short term moves makes no sense.
right now there are no priorities other than developing our players and getting good draft position.
lol at people saying 'pressure is on darko'; FO trying to lose; they're not going to fire a coach for losing.

Raps have at least been competitive in games this season with one or two of the "core four" missing. Against the Celtics without Scottie, and the Knicks without IQ come to mind. But not having a centre is a big deal against most teams. We saw at the end of last season that this team can't function without Poeltl. He's the lynchpin of the entertankment we've been enjoying for the most part. Kelly, at best, is a back up PF. Ideally third string. He in no way, in no league should be viewed as a replacement starting C.
I had been pushing for trading Jak this season. But unless a prospect big comes back I'm not sure I have the stomach for what will ensue.

Jakobe and Mitchell were not playing and Poeltl. Boucher doesn't seem interested in defensive rebounding or boxing out.

I don't blame Boucher for not being interested. Having this g league coach treat you like the 15th man on the roster does not inspire any level of giving a ****.

Boucher's got 11,000,000 reasons to be interested, and Darko ain't one of them.
