If Brooklyn keeps winning do they fire Jordi? And if so would you prefer him as coach?

I know it won't happen, but seeing Jordi in Brooklyn has been a contrast to Darko in Toronto (and not a favorable one for Darko IMO).

Jordi seems to be able to maximize his talent to get competitive play out of his team...I haven't been seeing this from the Raps.

I'm not sure if it's fair to blame Darko...lots of injuries, last year was a hot mess roster wise, and sure we lack talent...but...I feel like we don't play fundamentally in a way that will result in winning...even if we land the #1 pick overall.

Fine if Darko is tank commander and nets us what TwO is pining for...but how long do we keep him in as HC if we aren't winning?

IE if we get the #1 pick and we still play like this? 3 years into a top pick's career?

When you look around the league and see turnarounds from Houston, Memphis...even Detroit looks better than us...I've been less than impressed with Darko's early tenure (I know it's still early).

I really think a head coach of a rebuilding, or young team, also needs to be a culture setter...not sure that's happening in a way that will put us back into contention, even with a change in talent.

lol no. You don't fire coaches to tank. You bench/trade players overperforming that aren't part of the future. They just traded away DFS and will probably try to flip DLO.

Lol I never heard of a team firing a coach because they were too good.

What's the obsession w/ Jordi Fernandez around here?

It's not like he's an established coach or anything.

Clearly Masai knew what he was doing when he hired for the tank

Marks has to do a better job aligning a coach to the expected product

Brooklyn is marginally overachieving with a 12-20 record so apparently he is so good of a coach that Brooklyn should fire him because he is ruining their tank?

Lol.

It's because the Raptors almost hired him but opted for Darko, and now Jordi appears to be the better coach

1) No.
2) If we were trying to win, maybe. Right now? No.

Agreed. Jordi is getting his training wheels taken off in Brooklyn. We'll hire him when he has some experience under his belt and we are ready to compete.

There is no concern about the Nets ability to keep on winning. They will keep trading off enough pieces until they can't beat their own G League team.

Lol.

What is the problem with overachieving?
Why do they even need to tank when they are pretty much in New York. I wouldn't surprised they acquired 2nd round pick to free up cap space for better talent, and not necessarily needed for tanking to get talent.

Up until recently, Darko got this team competing every night despite an overwhelming amount of injuries. I’d argue there is no other team playing as many rookies as us and if you’re going to do that, you are going to lose. Plain and simple.

Darko was hired to develop players and he’s done that. Jordi isn’t known as a coach that develops players and as we saw in the Olympics, he needs a bit of work as a tactician. Darko was the right choice. I like Jordi but there is a reason he got passed on by every team that interviewed him.

i don't know if darko will be here long term but let's say we hired jordi and have 5 more wins right now, then a majority of the folks that are unhappy with darko would just post about how they are unhappy we are in no man's land and not tanking to get a top pick.
