Christian Koloko made wrong decision

He now only avg less than 2 ppg and less than 10 mins a game. Had he signed with the Raps he would probably have more playing time this season. He should have made the decision on which team has the better development system and minutes (Raps in this case), over good weather and close to family in LA. Poor decision in general, and now it's looking less likely he will reach his potential.
Do you think Masai will try to sign him this coming offseason?

He is a punk for using our facility to rehab, and signing with the Lakers instead.

His agent got in his ear, or maybe he thought it would be the better choice, nope wrong.

I don't think we offered much for Koloko - we probably only offered him an Exhibit 10 to send him down to the 905. Lakers gave him a 2-way contract. We could have offered him an actual roster spot (i.e. not sign or just waive Bruno or Temple etc) if we really wanted to, but we did not.

I think we offered him Bruno’s spot and contract which is completely non-guaranteed. But I don’t think we offered him any assurances as to how long we would keep him and Rich Paul being his agent got those assurances from the Lakers, that they would at least keep him on the two-way.

Most of us were fine with re-signing him but felt he needed lots of 905 playing time to get back into playing shape....not to mention to work on things he wasn't good at in his rookie year.
He went where he thought he could get more guaranteed money and you can't blame him for that given what he just went thru.
He still likely can carve out a career he needs time to practice and get stronger. That doesn't happen in 4 months.

Koloko did play 3 seasons at Arizona and is 24 now. I think the Raps would've taken him back, but they weren't particularly eager too now that his realized potential is closer to what it is.
Chomche is a smarter developmental bet, he's got 6 years to get to where Koloko is now (assuming the team only wants one developmental center at a time, which makes sense roster wise).

For some reason, there are quite a few on here that refuse to accept this fact.

His career path is trending in a bad direction. Still looks like the same player as 1st game in the league.

Particularly those who claimed Masai would have drafted Koloko in the first round at 20s had we not traded down for Thad

Still makes me sad that we could have had Andrew Nembhart or Walker Kessler. But hey, we got Thad's veteran leadership and also gave that scrub a contract extension before he leaves the NBA.

God what a mess that was, I hated that era where we couldn't help ourselves but be a part of Spurs rebuild.

Koloko being "good" was a result of the Masai positive feedback loop. He can do no wrong, therefore Koloko must be good. Right?
They've all scrubbed Jontay Porter from their memories too, along with all his other errors.
