Ingram when healthy is regarded as an elite shot creator. The type of player you need to win playoff games.

Additional context pertaining to that 2023 playoff struggles:

Pels were swept by OKC and Ingram had a tough time against Lu Dort, one of the best perimeter defenders in the game.
FURTHER CONTEXT FROM THE 2023 PLAYOFFS:
Ingram was out an entire month before that and was clearly not 100% ... pelicans fans have seen him work dort enough to know he can score on him just fine .. in fact he avgd 29 a game on 49% shooting the prior 5 matchups vs okc with dort as the primary defenders.

Ingram is a baller when healthy, and he's a really underrated playmaker. Should create a lot of looks for Barnes around the rim because he does command defensive attention.

This guy is more offensively gifted than Siakam. He may still have another level to unlock.

Unfortunately, injuries have hindered his growth. Hopefully McKechnie can work his magic on him and maximize his potential.

I remember hearing the raptors podcast show and Bonner was mentionning that Ingram wasnt a good 3 point shooter and i thought that was odd because i remember him shooting decent from 3 and now after checking he seems like an above average 3 point shooter.
Seems more like a question of getting him to shoot more of them and i think in Darkos offense he will

He will free up so much in the offence.
Barnes not having to face the other team's best defender/ double teams.
RJ doesnt have to score 20+ and can excerpt more energy on D
Quickly can do his thing, etc
+ our lottery pick this year. Next year will be the funnest season to watch in a long time.

Welp. He's here now. I think I'm with Duff in saying "here's hoping he's healthy... next year."

Spend the rest of the season getting Ingram's body right and then let him go off next season. That's the hope anyways lol

Welcome to BI!!
I really think with our staff this could work out really well for both sides.
There is plenty of time now to get him situated and learning the systems before they debut him in an offense and defense system and scheme that accounts for the new roster.
This off-season is going to be huge for us!!
RJ is my favorite player (and still is) but I want to see him cutting off of BI. I don't care if this trade means the ball will be in his hands less or in Scottie's. We have a system.
The ball is going to move in our offense and guys are going to get to their spots or find advantages.
Darko has these guys playing for each other so they're giving up their own shots for better ones.
I have wanted to see Scottie screening and getting to the basket more - that will now happen.
BI needs people driving and kicking out to him for above the break 3s - that will now happen.
We keep talking about all of the things that can go wrong with this trade but there are just as many (if not more) that can go right.
We are building depth and talent here and just increased it in a big way for a relatively low risk price.
I love paying that kind of cost for a chance at this kind of upside.

I think they will ease him in and play him a couple of games this year.
Similar to the situation when we got Trent but continued to tank post deadline

One of my favourite things about Ingram is how he attacks the rim. For a guy with great footwork and finesse he goes in strong and doesn’t shy away from contact.
I think the Raptors’ culture will be a big difference from what he’s experienced in New Orleans and might unlock something more in his game.
