The fact the game ended an hour ago with no PG thread is kinda sad

Happy Superbowl Sunday!

Everyone's in the game thread - mods aren't around to sticky and lock threads right now

Great outcome, but Dick.

Young guys played and kept it close until the end.

Scottie gonna be a tank general soon.

Welcome to tanking, we should do this for a few more years.

Man, for a while there I thought we were going have a disappointing win, but in the end we totally outdid ourselves and added yet another loss to the tank bank.

Great result!

Well one more year might have made sense, but now that we have BI, I think we're just out of the race for the three generational talents available in the 2026 draft.

Keep the Ls coming.

Barnes capping out as a 3rd (or worse) option is disappointing, but what’s worse is Masai operating as though he’s better than he actually is.

trading for Ingram and still continuing to tank for a top 5 pick actually indicates they know Barnes needs more talent beside him.

All those plays he made with less than a minute left...where the **** was that in the preceding 3 quarters??? Get to the basket. Back your man down. Attempt a mid range jumper. Attempt a 3 here and there. In that order. That's your game Scottie.

I think it says more that they know Dick isn't a starting 2 tight now. Great shooter, bad defender, really bad finisher.

TBH is Barnes was okay from 3, we wouldn't be having this conversation. His 2 game is fine, even today 6/11 from 2 isn't some horrible game, his 3 game is and that can disrupt the offence if no one else can score inside.

We're only saying this missing our oldest players and now Dick against top notch competition. Sure Houston also had injuries and they barely beat us shooting like ****.

Besides the fact Houston has been like the healthiest team all year. Hopefully Scottie can be even just a 33% shooter at some point.

Plus isn't this what team tank wants?

He knows. They just acquired Ingram and have a high pick coming.

Almost like he is trying other things in games that don't matter if we lose.

Still doesn't excuse being so inefficient.

We always said to surround him with shooting.

Added IQ
Added Dick....someday
Added Walter....someday
Added Battle
Gambled on Ochai
Added KO
Added BI

Getting there

This is what’s confusing about this direction though. The way they hyped up Barnes suggests he is THE guy to build around… but if he’s not as good as projected then why is he being built around? You don’t max a guy, say he’s the face of your franchise and then proceed to say actually we need to add players that are better than him to succeed…

Treat this as his 2nd year as the main guy, with even less experience around him than last year.

This is Darko rampinging up the difficultly. This good for Scottie. But you have to be patient.

He is a guy you build around for defensive purposes. He still plays at a high level there and when he has better scorers around him he can make the right reads. Right now he forces things because of the sad personnel around him.

Would I have maxed him out? Not sure but they didn't have options once they traded Siakam and chose him as the centerpiece.

Think of Scottie as a 6’7/7’3 wingspan Lowry.

Not your top scorer but a damn good player that contributes to winning basketball.

He isn’t a “first option” but unlike many players he doesn’t want to be either.

Next year is going to be fun, if healthy, with everyone playing to win and in a role that actually fits their skills/abilities.

Exactly. People here been brainwashed from all the bad takes by tWo and their disciples that they think Masai and Bobby are braindead. Think about it why else would they trade for Ingram and be tanking for a high pick this year?
