The Toronto Raptors have signed Jared Rhoden to a 10-day contract, the NBA team announced Wednesday.

The six-foot-five, 210-pound shooting guard appeared in four NBA games with Charlotte this season.

He has also played in 20 Tip-Off Tournament and regular-season games with Greensboro and Raptors 905 in the NBA G League, averaging 16.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 29.5 minutes.

He is shooting .504 (133-264) from the field and .396 (40-101) from three-point range. He had a season-high 32 points for Greensboro in a Nov. 15 game versus Delaware.

Rhoden, from Baldwin, N.Y., holds career averages of 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 13.0 minutes in 35 contests with Detroit and Charlotte.

Rhoden was signed by the Raptors last summer but was waived before the start of the season.

Love Rhoden's game, he's been one of many bright spots on the 905 this season. Don't really see a path for him on our roster due to our glut of guards, but happy to see him get a little reward for his play. He looks like an NBA player every time he's on the floor in the G, hopefully he catches on somehwere

If Rhoden is an NBA caliber player it at least makes your more comfortable making some moves if you like him that much (and by you, I mean the FO).

Liked watching him in the 905. Definitely the best of the bunch (with Lawson).

Good easy athleticism and a solid player.

I have no problem with that but only because he’s nickname is pretty accurate for the effect his play would have on the Raptors.

Yeah, I somehow thought there were no roster spots open. Do wonder what the delay in waiving Tucker is though. I guess they didn’t want to be forced into this move before they were ready because waiving him would have put us at 13.

They are waiting for him to secure a new job on the buyout market before they cut him so hopefully he leaves some money on the table so we save a little towards the cap to stay further away from the tax. If the buyout deadline passes then he will be cut.
