He is absolutely huge and that means his knees and other parts of his body can't take stress like a well built 6 footer can. I kind of saw these concerns coming when he was drafted.

It was always HIGHLY RISKY to draft a player of his built.

Prayers up.

Anyone saying they saw this coming or it was a risk drafting him, cool while you guys are at it, wanna give us all the lotto 6/49 numbers? GTFO here with this crap lol

Height is a risk, not build.

For women aged around 60 with a height of around 155 cm, the risk of VTE is 3 per cent, whereas it increases to 6 per cent for women of the same age who are over 185 cm tall. For men aged around 60 and under 160 cm tall, the risk is 2 per cent, whereas for men of the same age over 190 cm the risk rises to 7 per cent.

6'2 is where they see a noticeable increase, and it isn't a linear increase. So if you think his height/build is the issue, no team should be drafting anyone over 6'2.

Spurs firing up the late season tank.

We CANNOT allow ourselves to be out tanked, least of all by them.

Prayers up for Wemby no doubt but we gotta lose as many games as we can here down the stretch.

That really sucks. This **** has prematurely ended too many careers. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

This also sucks for us as it introduces the Spurs as a new tank rival.

No one has said they saw this coming.

But yes, it was a risk drafting him, so not sure why you're throwing a tantrum... You literally said yourself in the next sentence that "Height is a risk".

Anyways, not here to argue. Just hope Wemby makes a speedy recovery, as he's a generational talent and I love watching him play.

Didn't Ingram had a similar issue with blood clot on shoulder?

And Ingram turned out fine, hoping the same for Wemby - as long as it's not reoccuring

Props to the Spurs form letting him playout his first Allstar weekend before making the announcement. Since their sharing it's isolated, I bet he'll recover like Thompson.

Hope he can make a full recovery but I'd be wary if I'm Wemby. Spurs don't have the best track record when it comes to handling players injury IMO.

Yeah, over 6'2. It's not like him being 7+ feet has any evidence supporting it is any more a significant risk than anyone else over 6'2, and if there is I would happily read the study and change my opinion if that were the case.

And come on, I posted 2 posts after a comment saying :

I kind of saw these concerns coming when he was drafted.

LITERALLY saying he saw these kinds of things coming. No one is "throwing a tantrum" but you, unless posting an article about a scientific study is "throwing a tantrum", jesus can we not just jump right to hyperbole?

Yup, looks to be almost identical. And it doesn't seem to have impacted his career since then, hopefully it's just a random thing like it was with BI and he's fine.

It would really suck for the NBA to lose a guy of his insane talent.
