I saw this posted on the Raptors Subreddit. RJ Barrett is the only guy with 2000+ Rebounds and over 1000+ Assists in the 2019 Draft Class as well.

Has quickly become one of the most underrated players in the league.

He's been a totally different player for the Raptors. A guy that has benefited immensely from a change of scenery and being back home.

Defense getting better. I think BI acquisition will be a mistake as both RJ and BI operate from the same area on the court and we can afford to only keep one of them.

RJ = bully ball in the paint + can spot up from 3
BI = mid-range master + can spot up from 3
IQ = 3 point wizard
Scottie = trying to be a midrange master and trying to be a reliable 3 point shooter

Nobody else puts the pressure on the rim that Barrett does.

I don't mean to undermine RJ, but there is more than just pts in order to win games (remember Demar?)
If there is a choice, I think either Garland or Herro might fit this team better than RJ.
But RJ is a great solder for both the team and Canada

Demar couldn’t shoot 3s, was not a great passer and not very efficient in his time here and was absolutely horrible in the playoffs. He made a living at the ft line, but again wilted in the playoffs when it was more physical. It wasn’t just his **** defense. If Demar was elite offensively especially in the playoffs, it would’ve made up for his **** defense.

Like I said the organization needs to learn from its mistakes. Do not let go of this man, he’s got Norman Powell vibes offensively in that he Efficiently gets his points within the flow of the offense. And also has improved his passing immensely and has shown great playmaking chops this season.

This board is so invested in gradey dick whos a worse defender and right now a worse percentage shooter with even less overall offensive skills but for some reason can’t wait to get rid of Barrett. When Barrett was dicks age he was a much better player. Yet somehow people expect dick to explode into herro?

lol wut if there is more than 'just pts' to win games, garland and herro are not good examples of that.

This is more about who is the most durable player... although health/availability is an important skill

a lot of the posters on this board watch way too much espn and put way too much stock into national opinion instead of trusting their own eyes which is why the national/espn media impression of barrett still sticks with them

I hope RJ is a Raptor for a very long time. I love this kid. As I always say and what someone else has stated above...RJ is our only legit constant downhill threat. He puts so much pressure on the rim. I was concerned like a lot of people were about RJ's tunnel vision as a NY Knick but actually not in Toronto. We have unlocked his passing and playmaking. 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 47% shooting? And his ever improving defence?!?!? He is absolutely living up to former #3 overall pick expectations.

That’s probably it because there are so many times where they push an opinion or idea that just doesn’t match with what I’m seeing on the court. Like when people would say Scottie has more of an offensive bag than siakam. But I’m also convinced people just don’t know how to assess what they’re watching or evaluate skillsets which is why I say it so often and so aggressively. It’s probably a combination of both.

I was a RJ hater but his improvement is great he really rounds out a strong starting 5 for us. If he can nail the 3 on decent volume our offense is going to be great.

Many on this board don't like him because they think he is DeMar 2.0 but RJ is a much better passer and 3 point shooter than DeMar was at the same age. His defense is also improving and it's not as bad as DeMar's D.

I doubt Gradey Dick will ever be able to attack the rim like RJ does. Gradey is like a taller Gary Trent with better basketball IQ.

Gradey has a deeper bag, potential to be a more versatile offensive threat. He just needs to get stronger and hopefully with experience on top he becomes a real threat one day. While Gradey also sucks on defense, you can tell he knows what the other team is doing on offense and tries to defend (he just sucks at it). RJ on the other hand looks clueless most nights on defense.

Good offensive player but that’s all he brings

i only thing rj really struggles with is really shots in the mid range and late in shot clock tough shots, but thats what ingram excels in, i cant wait until the team is healthy those are gonna be some fun games

In almost every post I make I mention RJ is my favorite player.

He was our most consistent player and leading scorer last year.

He is our leading scorer again this year. Since he's improved his defense, I think he's been the best player on this team.

Don't hate on me for noticing how inconsistent Scottie has been.

RJ continues to step up and be underappreciated.

Mark my words, if he gets traded, it has the potential to be the Norm trade all over again.

RJ looks good on that contract. I want to see him and BI play together.

Pay the tax and keep them both!
