Up 6 in the fourth and the Raptors bench Barnes to lose on purpose. Wonder if they will get fined or lose lottery position.

You watched previous games? We benched our starter, yet, we won a few.
Go read some PG thread if you would.

Nah Orlando Robinson and AJ Lawson are just better than Poeltl and Barnes.

We tried our hardest to win that game

We won 6 of our last 7 games and are one of the hottest teams in the NBA right now led by our hometown surprise superstar AJ Lawson and our young rookie future stars on this team closing games for us. Why would we get fined? Utah should forfeit their pick

It's coaching decision to play or bench guys, the NBA can't fine us

Only fines are for not playing your all-star and they played Scottie and more than most teams in our position.

Yes, we are trying to lose like HALF of the NBA.

We’re at a point in the season where you want to see what the other players can do so we can make roster decisions. We are having tryouts. So Silver has nothing to worry about. We have been one of the hottest teams in the league and we are putting the league and young players on notice letting them know this is where they want to sign if they want to develop well.

It’s a great strategy to bring players with potential who have not yet made it

So far, the NBA has only fined for sitting out players without a reason, not for how a team has managed the minutes of its players within a game.

That would be a slippery slope for the League to scrutinize how the coach of a team makes strategic decisions within a game and his motivations for doing so.

So I don't think the NBA would fine the Raptors.

They acted unequivocally to favor losing. On most nights recently it's been a battle to see who will do that the best. Against Portland we were facing a team trying to win. You will lose 100% of the games of that sort when you commit yourself. We' ll lose again tonight. It will not remove the fact that there are 8-10 wins on the schedule for us where we will be out tanked. The tankers haven't yet figured that out yet. Losing against teams that try is the least of our problems if we are actively trying to cheat our way to SLIGHTLY better odds. I hope it gets so egregious against the Nets that the league has no choice but to come down hard. We're not just giving guys a look.

Battle drained a clutch 3, and immediately got benched...
We arent even developing our young players at the end of games (Shedd, Battle ect.)

This team at best is looking for its 14th and 15th man for next season

it's called tanking....every season there are a handful of teams that do it

Not sure why some people are acting like this is some sort of new development in the NBA

How do you think the Raptors got Scottie Barnes

The game that Walter hit his gw was more egregious. The team sat all the starters with 2 minutes to go in a tight game. I have never seen an NBA team employ that strategy.
