How far are you comfortable falling in the draft?

Post#1 » by raps95 » Wed Mar 26, 2025 12:44 am

Anywhere from 5 to 7 would be fine for me. Eight wouldn’t kill me but I would feel much better about 7 netting us a solid contributor. So what is the lowest we could fall and you would still feel pretty good?

To be clear, I mean post lottery results, obviously.

1. Flagg
2. Harper
3. Bailey
4. Edgecombe
5. Maluach
6. Queen
7. Traore
8. Tre
9. Fears

I'd be pretty happy with either one of those top 9 guys, so I'm glad we locked up a bottom 7 seed (lowest we can realistically drop is to #9 - 1.3% chance to drop to #10)

If we don't move up into the the top 4, there are plenty of similar prospects in the 5 to 12 range. The higher the better, of course, but this feels like one of those drafts where the 3rd best player is going to get picked at 9th or 11th or something.

I really wanted one of Cooper, Dylan, Ace, Tre Johnson, after them I want VJ and Jaku, after that it’s whatever. Maluach or Fears I guess. Just gotta hope for the best with whomever we draft.

VJ/Queen/Newell/Mal in that order for me. I think we end up with Mal who’s looking underwhelming currently in the tourney.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Falling past 1 is a failure to me.

lol

Same as most others, obviously top 5 would be great. Ideally we stay 7th.

I see a lot of the guys from 5-10 as ranked pretty similarly.

It doesn’t matter if you are comfortable dropping to 8 because we will most likely not be picking the guy you feel comfortable picking there. We will be taking someone else making you uncomfortable.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Doesnt matter. I got #1 in my daily tankathon spin.

But in all honesty, I dont really care if we are 7th-10th. All are decently similar. Top 4 or bust really. Anything other than that is whatever
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

Part of me thinks that these wins and playing of the main guys is that Masai is strategically positioning himself to land Maluach or jump up in the lottery.

Is there anyone in this draft who has a shot of being as good as Flagg? I see him getting a lot of hype... but I'm sure these other cats have crazy rizz too.

i want as high of a pick as possible, but at the end of the day more often than not the best player coming out of any given draft isnt considered the best prospect going into the draft. as long as a team has good scouts etc the "best" players can be found anywhere in the lottery. give us a top 10 and hope our scouts gamble correctly with the player since its pretty much a crapshoot(especially in this type of draft) just get this tanking crap over with lol.

Id say the last 6 are the best players. Zion, Ant, Cade, palao, wemb, Zacc.

Man, getting Cooper would change EVERYTHING for this franchise. Makes me so sad seeing us piss away odds to get him for these pointless wins. Even getting Harper/Bailey/Edgecombe would be a massive boost to this team.

After 9 any of the oft-talked about prospects disappear, so...

Return to Toronto Raptors
