SotD: Agbaji 2nd most improved shooter on C&S 3%.

Among 128 players who took >= 200 3PTA C&S, he was 49th and Battle was 48th in 3PT%. Among 247 players who took >= 100 3PTA C&S, he was 90th, Battle was 87th in 3PT%. Not bad for a team that shot 25th in the L in them, despite being 11th in volume.

According to Schuhmann, LA was 37.4%. That means (not accounting for SSS), Ingram/Boucher/Dick/Battle/Agbaji were the only ones above LA. JaKobe was LA, and IQ just abit under.

I miss the SotD!

That's a good start to the rebuild. Love both of those players. Battle is jot only.making shots, but his overall game seems to be evolving. He is going to be a good one. Dude haa been putting in work all year & it shows.

Where was Gradey?

People said we don't have enough shooter, so are we really lacking shootings?

Consistent and plays smart. He fixed the two things that were the biggest knocks on him in one off season. It will be really interesting to see what happens when his contract is up and what we decide to do with the guards.

Feels like the ideal guy to be in the starting 5 next year.

Quickley / Ochai / Ingram / Scottie / Poeltl

Good 3p shooter, defender, doesn't need the ball in his hands.

If Ochai keeps improving, he will have a great case to be starting over RJ next year. His 3 and D might have more value than RJs scoring to the starting lineup.

We will have to see how players look in training camp/preseason next year to fully assess because our potential draft pick could be starter level right away too.

Schuhmann didnt have Gradey on the list, but... he went from 39.3% last yr, to 38.3, so a slight dip but still both times above LA.

We were 25th in the NBA in C&S 3PT%, so yes. Its tough with Scottie/Jak (altho, Jak was 1 for 1 on C&S 3s) as non shooters getting starting mins though.

I was really impressed with his improvement this season. Glad to see it reflected in the numbers.

That was a great trade for us. I see people saying Ochai is the odd man out between himself, Gradey, and JaKobe, but I disagree. I think he's the perfect piece to hold onto moving forward. A 3+D wing can fit into any roster configuration.

Seems like a nice threat to have off the bench.

Battle, Agbaji, and IQ are solid shooters (and we have a streaky one in Gradey)... we just lack good players to attract doubles to get them open.

We’ll have to see how Quickley and Scottie are imo before the idea of RJ sixth man happens. I’m not entirely confident those two are enough secondary/third option creators after Ingram so RJ’s passing and pressure and decent catch and shoot numbers may be needed still in the starting unit.

Draft Khaman & watch those corners open up even more because of the attention a 7'2 giant attracts. If not it's a lob at the rim, a floater or a hard drive into the paint

Agreed, I never been a fan of the plug n play mantra some ppl hold. Put your best 5 on the court, we've seen RJ be apart of many good defensive units for us

The growth in Agbaji’s game in one year was spectacular.

Played within himself and thrived in his role.

Couldn’t hit shots last year. Couldn’t make a layup.

Well done this season, Ochai!

Biggest issue would be selling RJ on it, he's got a lot of pride and determination, but if you could, it would probably work well, with exception RJ's stats are going to go down. Gives you the three and D guy that can guard the 1,2 at a high level, and most 3s as well in starting lineup with Ochai. Another thing is I feel like to some degree BI and RJ are going to be used in a similar way. If RJ was in the starting lineup, with the exception of Shead all of your creators and facilitators would be in starting unit. BI will eventually get hurt and moving RJ into that role when it happens can happen somewhat seamlessly. Have BI slide over to 4 when Scottie is sitting and limit the amount of reps that RJ has to guard opposing shooting guards that he doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard. Now, I don't think this happens because of them probably doing what they can to showcase RJ in a starting role and overall asset management. We've got a bit of a log jam at the 2/3 and Grady, Ochai, Jakobe will have to fight over minutes at times and there will definitely be an odd man out there if no moves are made and the roster is healthy. Good problem to have I guess.

*Quickley, Scottie, and Cooper.

Joking aside, we're adding BI to the starting lineup, who should ideally be the RJ replacement. A lineup of Scottie-RJ-BI would be a lot of inefficient offence.

Ya but I think moving a guy like to the bench will only happen when the team struggles with its Wins and Losses. We will for sure start with RJ so it'll be up to him to ensure he's not the weak link beside Ingram.

The positive thing is that RJ/Scottie all seem to know what their weaknesses are so let's hope they all show up to training camp improved. It'll hard to map anything out with the draft and the entire offseason still to come as I do think there's a chance we could make a big trade that would help solve everything itself.
