I think he did an excellent job given the situation. Maybe they have someone in mind. It seems like the Hawks are another of those, too many chefs, type organizations

He probably wanted to move on from Trae/rebuild and ownership said see you later

They promoted him to GM before he had turned age 34, with little experience. Based on what exactly? Ran a good treadmill I guess.

Welcome back to Atlanta, Al Horford.

Have to assume either Snyder wanted him out, or this has something to do with Trae. He's been pretty handcuffed since he got the job and has done well given the hands he was dealt. Murray deal was probably a win (not his fault they traded for him in the first place), Risacher is a fine pick, and Hunter deal was not half bad either.

Why are you hating on landry, he obviously impressed them behind the scenes to earn the job, and from the outside seemed to do a decent job in the role.

He did a good job given the situation he was thrown into. That franchise is a dumpster fire.

I wouldn't be opposed to hiring Landry if Masai gets fired/leaves.
EDIT: Nevermind. I take that back. I didn't realize he made the DM trade. I thought he inherited the situation.

He still owes us money from the Colangelo days.
As an aside: the Hawks really should cash out on Trae, before he becomes a UFA next offseason. They have Dyson Daniels ready to take over at PG.
Something like a Quickley+7+ 2nds for Trae+22 would be awesome for both teams.

If we stay at 7+, I'd do it.

Wait till he finds out the Sonics hired Presti as GM at 29 years old.

Hawks would laugh at us for that offer.

Threw up in my mouth reading this. Vs Quick, Trae is older, makes way more, is less efficient, and has worse defense, and we're supposed to give up our 7th for him?

The owners son wanted and had final say while the #1 priority was to never pay tax

I'm not hating on him, I'm criticizing ownership for hiring an inexperienced person probably because he was cheap. Maybe Landry does better in next situation now that he does have experience.
