Pairing Scottie with Giannis is like pairing Bosh with Jermaine O'Neal

Anyone who was old enough to remember that trade remembers the fact that we were being sold by BC on having the newest "Twin Towers" like the Spurs.
Even if O'neal was at his peak, which he wasn't at the time, it would haven't mattered. It was a bad fit.
Anybody with any semblence of team basketball knowledge knows the terrible fit Giannis would be with Scottie. They occupy the same space on court.

Agreeed. Horrible fit. Scottie isn’t even as good offensively as bosh or oneal. If we get Giannis Scottie needs to go.

Pairing Giannis with Ingram, on the other hand, is a one way ticket to the finals.

Pretty sure Bosh/O'Neal pairing's biggest issue wasn't the fit. Dude was done before he even got here. If snake oil salesman convinced you otherwise at the time, that's on you.

Teams trading their superstars almost always get fleeced.

I really think some of these fanboys need to get banned for a day for even suggesting that the Bucks will somehow give up Giannis without demanding Scottie in return.

Raptors wouldn’t get Giannis without giving up Barnes.

What a disaster that was. But I remember I shared the elevator in the ACC with ONeal, going to the underground parking lot. It happened because I was hanging around for a while for the Raptors after game show. He was driving a truck with Indiana plates, he was very polite with me and making conversation on the way from elevator, to the parking to his car, I was parked like 10 or 15 cars down from his truck, we laughed about that.
Anyway, I don't think it'd be a problem, but that's because We'd most likely need to trade Scottie to get Giannis. For maching salaries.
But yea I agree it wouldn't be a good fit. Kinda like Bosh and ONeal.

Giannis won with Middleton whose nowhere near as offensively gifted as Ingram. He's also never had a 3rd option as good as RJ.
This is the best team in the East automatically.

To be fair I was drinking the BC Koolaid alot when I young and naive. I was having dreams of us going 80-2 with both of them averaging double-doubles.
Also some of the games were still on CBC which was the only channel I had at the time to watch them.

I don't know about the best in the East but definitely top 4-5, with a solid chance to get to East finals and even NBA finals. Anything could happen.

Not so hot take but Scottie can play with nearly anybody, he would merely just adapt his game to be more perimeter oriented/playmaker than being a finisher/scorer type. Scottie gets dragged thru the mud so much here its like he didnt break his hand and face the last 2 seasons

I don't like the pairing but the comparison is off, both bosh and oneal were bigs, scottie and giannis are forwards who can handle and initiate.

Who's going to tell OP if if we get Giannis, Scottie is 100% going the other way?

Pairing Giannis with anyone on this team is absolutely incomparable to anything like pairing bosh and O'neal. Bosh's best year was 24ppg 11rbs and meh everything else. And forget about O'neal. Giannis just put up 30, 12, and 6.5 asts. Giannis and Jak alone is a better twin tower than if it was Bosh and the admiral.

I feel like the talk about whether to include Scottie Barnes or not in a supposed deal for Giannis is kinda pointless. Misses the boat entirely.
The real issue isn't whether we should include Barnes or not (and I would provided there's enough assets left after the deal to build a team). The real issue is that any deal that would allow us to beat out other teams for Giannis' services would cripple the team's depth and the future enough that we would be no better than current version of Bucks after the trade. And we are talking about 30+ year old Giannis who has been out of playoffs due to injury number of times already in recent years.
I'm not sure why we would be ok with that.

Either way if we’re getting Giannis, Barnes needs to be extracted for value. They make absolutely no sense next to each other. Why the **** would you want Giannis and poor mans Giannis on the same team in the same lineup it’s just horrible roster construction.
Barnes and dick for Giannis like the demar trade, championship time.
