Jokic deserved the last five, but it’s been a long time since the MVP was given exclusively to the best player or even best statistical season. If they swapped teams OKC might have won 75 games this year.

Obviously Jokic is the best player alive, but Shai deserved this.

Averaged 33, 6 and 5 and 2 steals on 52%fg and 38%3fg, helping his team to win 68 games and he played 76 games.

It's a global game now.

That being said there are some great young American players under 25 like Edwards, Cade, Barnes, Banchero, Mobley.

We have to see how guys like Castle improve, whether guys like Flagg and Harper become superstars etc. There are always guys you never expect emerge as that MVP player like a Steve Nash or like a Steph Curry who bloomed later in their careers.
