Spurs aren't going to pass on Harper for Tre Johnson.

I believe that Dallas will trade the #1 pick to Boston for Jayson Tatum. I think the Celtics use this Tatum injury to rebuild on the fly. I think Brown, Tatum, Porzingis, Holiday and White all fine new homes and Boston tries to be the next OKC

And with the number #1 pick...the Boston Celtics select Cooper Flagg from Duke University

Nico is not incompetent. I've heard Nico plans to trade AD back to the Lakers this summer in a 3-way trade:

Lakes: filler to Dallas
DALLAS: AD to Lakers
Adam Silver: 2026 1st overall pick, to Mavs

essentially means Dallas punts on next year. Do they really want to do that considering AD's age?

Kyrie is done for next season as well. May as well tank the next season for another high lottery pick then return the following year with a big 3 of Kyrie/AD/Tatum plus another lottery pick that may or may not be traded for more win-now pieces.

But why not?

Harper may never shoot over league average from 3. Fox-Tre-Castle is a nice trio to pair with Wemby. Sure you offer the #2 to trade down to 3 or 4, but the Spurs moved up in the lottery so really it's all bonus.

Just because all the mocks say that Harper is BPA, doesn't mean he is BPA. I can only say that Flagg at #1 is BPA in that spot.

It's not like reaching for Darko or Marvin Bagley Jr. or Markelle Fultz.

I find oftentimes the "consensus" #2 overall tends to be the wrong pick. Sometimes, vastly so. I wouldn't be so certain Harper should go 2nd. The last 25 #2 overall picks have about a 40% hit rate on the correct selection, despite most of them being a "consensus" #2. So while Harper probably will be the 2nd overall, I don't think you can just gloss over it - people might actually vote for the "right" #2 pick if it's not Harper.
