I could totally see them going for Maluach here. They need D and can afford to swing for the fences.

Pretty sad with the kind of a season they had, that they pick 6th. Poor Wizards.

I think any one of Queen/Kon/Fears/Maluach are possibilities here.
Tre Mann should have been a Top 10 Pick in the 2021 Draft

when tanking goes wrong.

They've had 5 top 10 picks over the last 6 drafts and they still aren't very close to building a playoff core let alone a championship core.

#2 - A Sarr
#7 - B Coulibaly
#10 - J Davis
#15 - Kispert
#9 - D Avdija
#9 - R Hachimura

I'm pretty sure WAS views Sarr as thier C of the future, i don't see them picking a C in b2b years. That being said, they do need talent overall so it would be wise to go bpa and that may be a C on their board...but its WAS, they could go with anyone. Personally I think they should take Fears, he could blow up and they need star potential but I have a feeling they take Kon

Two French guys already. Laying in wait for the greatest french player ever... I say they go Essengue.

I don't think the drop off between 6th and 9th is very large in this draft.

I would argue they can not afford to swing for the fences. They absolutely need something out of this draft.

Part of me still feels like they might fall for the hometown hero angle with Queen (IF his shot isn't busted as KOC speculated) buuut yeah I can see them taking Fears. The Wizards NEED to start putting more fans back in the seats and ofc Fears has the most flash to his game and could arguably be a top 5 talent so they likely end up going that way..

OR keep in mind there were rumours a week or two ago that both NOP & BKN liked Fears so this could be a trade back scenario where they pick up another small asset and then end up taking whoever a pick or two later. I'm really praying the next couple of picks will be Kon and Jak but I think Maluach goes next.

Fears is the best player on the board easily

They probably figure they can't afford to miss on a pick this year, so they go with Kon.

They need more skills and size. Sarr and Queen would complement each other well.

Looking at their #18 pick, there are still high end bigs, and the gap between Queen and those bigs may not be that big of a difference (Beringer, Fleming, Newell, Sorber). I wouldn't be surprised they are looking at Beringer from France.

That said, they may take a guard or wing. If they are not thinking about CMD being the higher ceiling, they would take a guard. Fears and Knueppel are the guards, and I am higher on Fears over someone similar in Kispert.

Fears is the obvious choice but it would be pretty cool if they formed a French trio
