Wow.

I'm a bit surprised considering how far they went and Brunson wanting to run it back.

He’s their Mark Jackson

Don’t expect a dynasty coming but they should take a jump next year

Malone usually roasts teams for this, so let's see if he is the one to take the job.

Probably the right move. Thibs built the foundation, now bring in the coach to take them over the top. Thibs is Dwayne Casey/Mark Jackson.

They've invested enough in the roster to want to run it back even though it got somewhat exposed (Brunson Kat combo)

They need some ball handlers and a new coach. Brunson isn’t Luka.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

He should be fired, for that game 1 loss if nothing else. It took him too long to figure out that he couldn't play his tight rotation against Indiana because matching their pace of play without going deeper into his bench was impossible. Pacers play too fast, you're not going to beat them playing 7 guys in a series..

Honestly, he lasted longer than I expected. Coaches like him in any pro league have about a 3 year shelf life before the room starts tuning them out, unless there is major roster turnover, which can prolong their stay a couple of years.

Either KAT or Thibs had to go. Easier to fire Thibs.

Malone would be amazing.

Didn't they just extend him last year?

With Thibs gone and their starters not playing 47.5 MPG;
Their glaring bench holes will be far more evident next season.

Mike Malone, Jonny Bryant (1 of 2 finalist for suns job, was previously with knicks) or Jay Wright is my guess.

Worth noting: Knicks owe Tom Thibodeau at least $30 million guaranteed on his recently-signed extension, per sources. Also worth noting: NYK won a playoff series in 3 straight years under Thibodeau: from 2001 to 2020, they won just 1 series. He built winning foundation here.

Let’s be honest though, Indiana’s comeback was nothing short of miraculous, with nesmith going berserk from 3… if it wasn’t for him turning into steph curry, it’s a blowout… I don’t think it was necessarily the fault of the adjustments. And even despite the nesmith flurry, they were still a miraculous haliburton buzzer beater away from winning that game.
