Don't get me wrong, I support a swing for the fences move. But barring that, this is an interesting roster:

PG: Quickley / Shead
SG: Barrett / Walter
SF: Ingram / Dick
PF: Barnes
C: Poeltl

Plus the number 9 / 39 picks, Mogbo, Battle, etc.

It's not where I would have envisioned things 4 years into a rebuild / decline. But if we get some luck on health, I think that's a competitive team.

i'm looking forward to it too. we will be starting off the season trying to win every game and let the chips fall wherever they may.

if this team makes the playoffs outright and not play-in then it would've taken only 1.5 years to do it once the decision was made to trade pascal and og. there are teams that havent made the playoffs in 5+ years.

despite the perception, the east does have alot of competetive teams even if they aren't chip contenders. and there will be alot of teams like us trying to win.

and more short term, i'm excited for the draft and whatever trades happen this summer. i think we will make at least one trade, even if it's just a tweak.

I'm looking forward to finally seeing Ingram play for the Raptors.

I'm very excited but we need to fix that starting lineup.

Four of those starters aren't reliable 3pt shooters - Poeltl and Barnes can't shoot. RJ and Ingram are average 3pt shooters at best.

We're gonna struggle mightily.

The easy fix is swapping RJ for Ochai but that's still not good enough IMO.

We need another guy (or two) that can create for himself and can knock down 3pt shots in an efficient manner.

Hope we can trade for a guy like Bane, Garland, etc.

I think a lot of fans are looking forward to being competitive and watching games that actually matter again.

Whether that's with these young guys + Ingram and the 9th pick

Or

With a star addition.

Either way its something to look forward to.

Ya im pretty pumped to see the team play after hating so much of what we've done since 2021. I still think we'll make a solid trade to either upgrade RJ or find a legit backup Center. Consider me intrigued as hell for this offseason.

I'm cautiously optimistic for this season. I think we're a lot better than people think and we'll catch a lot of people surprised. Last season we kept everyone out of the lineup to tank and when we did play them they were pulled in the 4th quarter, still almost made the play in.

I will watch like I always do but won't be super excited until our 9th and 39th shows us something.

Oh I’m so excited! I’m just happy someone made a thread where we can talk about the upcoming season and positivity and not the same old negative **** people constantly talk about on here. It will be nice to talk about basketball for once and what’s happening on the court basketball wise and not all this tank this tank that and being angry when the Raptors win a game. I couldn’t take another season of that crap on here

I like the direction the team is going in. Tanking for years does not work without a ton of luck. I'd rather follow the path of development and accumulating talent, with team chemistry being a big part of what they do. Healthy will play a big role next season and I'm hoping players can stay healthy. There's also big jumps from young players to look forward to.

they could be spending a good part of the season with the 905 like mogbo/shead should have if injuries didnt pile up.

Bottom 10 teams during last 2 seasons

I would argue the reset started with the O.G trade December 2023 and we are now June 2025

~ 18 months

No matter who we draft, I trust our FO with the pick and after last season's shambles I am super excited to watch some meaningful games again.

We're a young team with a lot to prove, and Masai is likely plotting a huge trade coming at some stage as well to consolidate our talent.

That's why I said rebuild / decline. Things essentially shifted in 2021, with the drafting of Barnes, even if management didn't pivot until 2023.
