I’m going to be the first one to whine: why can’t we get an overpay like this in a trade????
This is a good deal for both teams though. It’s just the 4 unprotected picks. Memphis gets some salary relief, trade capital, and they are pretty good at draft. Orlando adds more scoring, shooting, amd play making.

I think this signals the Grizzlies might be rebuilding? Or they saw the overpay and decided they could use the picks in the future for a superstar to pair with Ja maybe

Memphis is not rebuilding.
You just can't pay everyone for a mid team.

i am leaning towards a retool, they want to create some more cap space this summer to raise and extend JJJ

unprotected 1sts in 28/30 (if things go right for orlando shouldnt be good picks)
that 2026 phx pick has been swaped so many times i am not sure how good it is. (to a point memphis already had swap options on it)
