Judging the return at the time of the trade, otherwise we should wait and see what phoenix does with their package first

then you have the trade incorrect because it was a top 4 protected 2026 pick and an unprotected 2024 pick.

I was asked to watch Cowboy Bruce under the premise we'd get a really high pick. That trade is a bottom 5 in Raptors history. There is no redemption for it.

Phoenix at least gets a lotto pick in a good draft and a 20ppg guy.

I see. Phx gets a 20ppg guy = good. Raptors get a 20ppg guy = bottom 5 trade in raptors history.

#10 is the best singular asset. Though we got pure cap savings in the deal vs the Suns who chose to eat the Green deal. I think it’s similar, maybe a slight edge to Suns depending on how you view that contract.

On paper the Suns package is better without the BI trade or who we drafted etc....10th pick is the best asset.

The Siakam trade also left us with a 10 million trade exception which we used to dump Jalen McDaniels on the Kings in exchange for Davion Mitchell, Sasha Vezenkov, the pick that got us Jamal Shead, the 39th pick in this draft. Mitchell was then traded for PJ Tucker's corpse and a future 2nd round pick and Cash.

So...It's Pascal Siakam for...BI, Ochai, Jakobe, Jamal Shead, the 39th pick in this draft, another future second round pick (which I believe is probably so heavily protected we may never see it) and cash.

Olynyk wasn't part of the original trade

Seems like a no brainer that the Suns return is better.....but Raptors did fine in the long run with the Siakam trade.

For 2 months of Pascal that trade is very good even before considering the future asset flipping.

Apples to oranges. Nothing similar about the two trades really.
We didn’t want to be the team attached to Pascal’s next contract. I assume we didn’t think we’d be winning anything with him and didn’t want to be paying 60million for Pascals age 34 season at the back end of the deal.
KD got his panties in a bunch because Phoenix listened to offers for him at the deadline and demanded out, as bitches do.
Pascal tanked his value by saying we were the only team he guarantee extending with.
KD’s value is what it is. He’s a mercenary. He’s going to give you 60 solid games in the regular season. He’s going to defend well and he’s going to score often. Hopefully he’s healthy come playoffs. He’s not a leader. He’s not going to lift up a locker room.
The #10 pick trumps all the picks we got back and Jalen Green is young still with perhaps some untapped potential so I voted for KD as getting the better return. That said, perfectly content with our return for PS, too.

Nobody said we were getting a high pick for Brown

Not what I meant. We took a futures return so we could tank to build around Scottie. Watching Cowboy Bruce was a part of that pain.

I'd say the Siakam trade. Some would argue a #10 pick is worth more than 3 picks in the 20s, but I'd rather have the three picks in the 20s, with this FO at least.

Siakam's value was limited by us waiting until he was expiring to trade him. KD's value was limited by his age.

Phoenix gets a young, healthy 20ppg + top 10 pick in a stacked draft + one of the best antogonists/wing defenders in the league.

We get an chronically unhealthy 20ppg through further trades. Sorry, Jalen Green has played 307 games in 4 seasons, Ingram has played 495 games in 9 seasons. Houston's returns is unquestionably better.

KD. Obviously Masai has had to turn water into wine with Bruce and those castaways. We’ll see what Phoenix does but on paper they got a decent return if they flip Green and they draft well at 10.

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

The package for Siakam was Bruce Brown and 3 first round picks. Two from a perennial playoff team and one from a team with one of the best records in the league at the time.
