Well it is nice that they worked together on that after the Mavs played him until he blew out his ACL. Gave the Mavs some flexibility too.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Kyrie is going to be cooked when he comes back from his ACL tear. Given his age and style of play, I don't foresee him ever returning to form.

Dallas getting both Gafford and Kyrie locked up to good deals. All the contracts are lined up to expire same time as AD's.

Healthy Mavs are a darkehorse contender next year.

Gafford was a good deal, Kyrie is suspect, ACL tear and 33 year old guard who relies on his agility. Could go pretty poorly.

he had a player option for 43 million he was opting into if no new deal, rehab and collect his money.
so its basically "just" $76 for 2 years in new money. and if he misses whole season that means almost a 18 months since his injury, should be recovered fully. he should be well worth the $76/2 by then

There is no full recovery from an ACL, let alone at 33-34yo. I'm not saying it's guaranteed bad, but it has a solid risk factor to it, they just got Coop though, they'll be fine.
